Accordingly, during the survey and search process, with the help of the authorities and information provided by local people, Team K91 verified information, surveyed and conducted excavation at Go Tuot Khonet, SaWai Tani hamlet, Boeng Preach commune, Ba Phnum district.
After expanding the excavation area to nearly 1,000m2 with more than 400m3 of soil, Team K91 found 2 sets of remains at a depth of about 0.9-1.2m. The remains were found with bones and many relics such as: buttons, hammocks, canvas, pants fabric...
Based on the collected relics and information from witnesses, Team K91 determined that these were the remains of two Vietnamese martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives in the period 1972-1973, whose identities have not been determined.
Team K91 took samples to send for DNA testing to determine the martyr's identity and completed initial procedures according to regulations.

In the coming days, Team K91 will continue to expand the search area, aiming to soon bring the heroic martyrs back to their homeland.
Team K91 said that the team hopes to receive valuable help from organizations and individuals, especially veterans, historical witnesses and people, regarding information related to the burial place of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who died in the two provinces (Prey Veng and PurSat, Kingdom of Cambodia).
