
The delegation of the Social Democratic Party of Germany was led by Mr. Achim Post, Vice Chairman of the SPD, Co-Chairman of the SPD of North Rhine-Westphalia state.
The reception took place within the framework of the visit, working session and participation in the 10th Theoretical Dialogue between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Social Democratic Party of Germany.

At the reception of the SPD delegation, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam attaches great importance to exchanging theories and policies with influential political parties in the world , including the SPD.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that the topic and content of this dialogue are extremely important in the context of the Communist Party of Vietnam focusing on completing documents and preparing for the 14th National Congress of the Party; helping to identify the nature of changes in the political, security and civilizational context of humanity, contributing to determining strategic priorities, seizing opportunities, overcoming challenges for development in the current period.

At the reception, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang informed the SPD delegation about the socio-economic development situation of Vietnam in recent times, the major orientations and strategic decisions that the Party and State of Vietnam have issued and are determined to implement, to achieve the goal of the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding and the 100th anniversary of the country's founding, determined to achieve an 8% growth rate in 2025 and strive to achieve double digits in the period 2026-2030.
He emphasized that Vietnam advocates developing science and technology, digital transformation and energy transformation, taking people as the center, subject and driving force of development.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang stated that the Party and State of Vietnam persistently pursue a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of international relations, and being a friend and reliable partner, with responsibility in the international community.
He expressed his belief that the 10th Theoretical Dialogue will contribute to deepening the relationship between the two Parties, while further promoting the comprehensive, substantive and effective development of the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership.


Speaking at the reception, Mr. Achim Post expressed his gratitude for the warm and respectful welcome from Vietnam and highly appreciated the achievements that Vietnam has made in the cause of innovation, socio-economic development and international integration.
He affirmed that the SPD attaches importance to the theoretical cooperation relationship with the Communist Party of Vietnam, considering this one of the important dialogue mechanisms, helping the two Parties share experiences in policy making, sustainable development, social justice and responding to global challenges, contributing to exploiting potential and strongly promoting relations between the two countries.
On the same day, The 10th theoretical dialogue between the two Parties was held with the theme: “The two Parties’ views on the world political situation; global economic order and human civilization in the new context: Issues and strategic orientations”. The Dialogue was chaired by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang and Mr. Achim Post.

At the dialogue, delegates exchanged and shared views on changes in world order, non-traditional security challenges, trade wars and global economic order, and the role of political parties in the current context.
The two sides agreed that, in the context of the world facing many intertwined risks and opportunities, international cooperation, political dialogue and theoretical sharing are important foundations to promote peace, stability and sustainable development; affirming that this dialogue is a new step forward in the cooperative relationship between the SPD and the Communist Party of Vietnam, contributing to strengthening political trust and promoting the strategic partnership between the two countries to go deeper and deeper.
During their time in Vietnam, the SPD delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, visited the Presidential Palace Relic Site, paid a courtesy call to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, worked with a number of Vietnamese ministries and branches, and learned about the practical implementation of policies on energy transition, sustainable development, and innovation.
Before that, the delegation visited and worked in Ho Chi Minh City, had an exchange with leaders of the City Party Committee and participated in a number of meaningful activities.
