Dialogue with students in a practical and effective way

Students of Hong Duc University proposed recommendations at the dialogue conference between the school principal and students in the 2023-2024 school year.

According to the representative of Hong Duc University, the dialogue activity with students was first organized by the school in the 1997-1998 school year. Up to now, this activity has been maintained annually and is included in the school's key work plan at all 3 levels (class level, faculty level and school level). According to statistics, at the class and faculty dialogue conferences, there were on average more than 80 opinions from students, of which more than 70 opinions were answered by the faculties, 16 opinions were sent to the school principal. The opinions, suggestions and reflections of students mainly focused on the school's facilities such as repairing, adding, replacing projectors, televisions, tables and chairs... in lecture halls; the overloaded situation in student parking lots; Investing, purchasing, and adding essential equipment to student dormitory areas and some conditions for extracurricular activities such as: establishing more soft skills training clubs for students, continuing to expand playgrounds and practice grounds for students...

In addition, many questions related to learning materials, security and order in dormitories, scholarship policies, tuition fees, etc. were also mentioned by students. At the dialogue conference between school leaders and students in the 2023-2024 school year, it was noted that from class level, faculty level to school level, nearly 100 opinions from students were raised. The concerns, questions, recommendations, and proposals of the students were all received and satisfactorily answered by the board of directors and leaders of the units based on the functions and tasks of each unit. For example, the proposal to invest in additional facilities for teaching and learning has been implemented regularly every school year. Regarding this issue, the President of Hong Duc University, Bui Van Dung, affirmed: The school will devote more resources to improving facilities and building the most favorable learning environment for students. In the future there will be many high quality classrooms to serve the needs of learners.

Also from the opinions of students through the dialogue conference, Hong Duc University has planned and made a tuition schedule so that students can understand and feel secure in their studies; arranged flexible schedules for students during the summer if they need to re-register, study ahead, or improve their grades; strengthened solutions to ensure security and order in the dormitories... According to many students, they were satisfied with the answers of the school leaders and expressed their agreement with the school's plan and schedule to resolve the recommendations made by students. In particular, through these democratic dialogue sessions, students not only directly expressed their opinions and suggestions but also became more aware of their responsibilities in studying, training, and building the school.

In fact, the questions raised by students in the dialogue conference are not only a channel of information for the school to grasp and promptly adjust in the direction of best meeting the requirements of learners, but also an opportunity for students to practice speaking methods and raise their legitimate rights in a democratic manner. The representative of Hong Duc University's leadership said that in the coming school years, the school will continue to maintain dialogue activities with students in a practical and effective manner. Dialogue sessions are organized regularly and continuously according to the model of an escalating chain. First at the class level, then at the faculty level and finally at the school level. Opinions at each level will be received and thoroughly resolved by that level according to authority, ensuring progress. Thereby creating a democratic, open and transparenteducational environment, while promoting the responsibility of leaders, lecturers and students in management, teaching, learning and building the school to constantly develop.
