According to information from the Vietnam Football Federation, the "golden star warriors" have moved up one place to 110th in the world on the November 2025 rankings of the International Football Federation (FIFA). This ranking was improved despite the points accumulated from the victory against the Laos team.

The victory over the Laos team was also the last match of the Vietnam team in 2025. This year, coach Kim Sang Sik's team played a total of 8 international matches, won 7 matches and lost 1 match. In which, the team won two victories against Thailand in the first and second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 final (2-1, 3-2), and also had a series of positive results in the Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers: won Laos 5-0 and 2-0, won Nepal 3-1 and 1-0. The only loss was against the Malaysia team, but this was also the match in which FIFA concluded that the "Tigers" used 7 naturalized players who were not eligible to play.
It is known that after completing the national mission, the players will return to their home clubs, while coach Kim Sang Sik and his coaching staff will join the U22 Vietnam team in Vung Tau on November 23 to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
The Vietnam team will return on FIFA Days in 2026, first in March 2026 to play the final match against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
