Interesting returns of the Vietnam team
These returns are not accidental, Phan Tuan Tai has been in stable form at The Cong Viettel Club for over a year, while Le Van Do had explosive moments in the Hanoi Police Club shirt last season, in the V-League and the Southeast Asian Cup C1. Previously, these two players were trusted under coach Philippe Troussier, but their form declined after Mr. Troussier left the Vietnam national team and the Vietnam U.23 team in early 2023. Now, with their form back, Phan Tuan Tai and Le Van Do have been called back to the national team by coach Kim Sang-sik.

Phan Tuan Tai's strength is his precise crosses from the left wing. Le Van Do has the ability to dribble quickly on the right wing, before moving into the middle and launching powerful shots. The presence of these two players will contribute to increasing the attacking ability on both wings of the Vietnamese team, in the match against Laos on November 19.
With Phan Tuan Tai guarding the left wing, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh and Nguyen Van Vi will be able to confidently rush forward, supporting the Vietnamese team's attacks. Not only that, Phan Tuan Tai himself can also move up, making dangerous crosses for the opponent, creating opportunities for his teammates in the opponent's penalty area. On the opposite wing, Le Van Do will support right-back Truong Tien Anh, who has been quite alone in the recent matches of the Vietnamese team.
Expectations gradually increased
In the past 3 consecutive matches of the Vietnamese team in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, including the match against Malaysia on June 10 (lost 0-4), against Nepal on October 9 (won 3-1) and the rematch against Nepal on October 14 (won 1-0), the Vietnamese team's attacks were not sharp and lacked diversity.

Coach Kim Sang-sik inherits the legacy of his predecessor Troussier

The attacks of coach Kim Sang-sik's team are not fast enough and not sharp enough to force the opponent's defense to be in disarray, thereby creating space for the attacking players of the Vietnamese team to exploit. We want to improve this. Therefore, the addition of two players Phan Tuan Tai and Le Van Do to the Vietnamese team may help coach Kim Sang-sik's team improve their attacking ability, especially their ability to attack the flanks.
Once the Vietnamese team’s attacks on both wings are better, the Lao team’s defense will be stretched. At that time, the faces operating in the central area of the Vietnamese team such as Hoang Duc, Quang Hai, Tien Linh… will have the opportunity to exploit the gaps in the opponent’s defense.
Coach Kim Sang-sik is sober enough not to completely deny the legacy that coach Philippe Troussier left for Vietnamese football. Two of those legacies are Phan Tuan Tai and Le Van Do, former players under the French coach who have begun to be used under Mr. Kim.
