Vietnam U22 had a smooth start at the China Panda Cup 2025 friendly tournament when they defeated host China U22 1-0. The only goal of the match was scored by Minh Phuc in the 81st minute.

Evaluating the match, coach Dinh Hong Vinh said: "I congratulate the U22 Vietnam players. This was a match in which the whole team showed fighting spirit, organization and bravery throughout the 90 minutes. The 1-0 victory was not only the result, but also a reward for serious preparation and adherence to tactics."

Coach Hong Vinh believes that the key to U22 Vietnam’s victory over host U22 China is the ability to apply high pressure, quickly change positions and effectively defend in groups. These tactics were all thoroughly practiced by U22 Vietnam during the recent training period.

“In the past, we were often caught up in the opponent's rhythm. But in this match, U22 Vietnam proactively applied pressure, maintained the formation distance and controlled the game well. The players played with discipline, patience and courage, especially in the key moments at the end of the match. In addition, the coaching staff also carefully analyzed the opponent and adjusted the tactics flexibly, helping the players execute their intentions on the field," Mr. Vinh emphasized.

Although there are still two highly anticipated matches in the tournament, coach Dinh Hong Vinh emphasized that the victory over U22 China is an important step forward for the Vietnam U22 team before the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

"The victory against host U22 China shows that U22 Vietnam is on the right track, gradually maturing and becoming more united," Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh concluded.

After the opening match, U22 Vietnam temporarily ranked 2nd on the rankings due to the lower goal difference than U22 Korea. In the next two matches, U22 Vietnam U22 Uzbekistan at 2:30 p.m. on November 15.
