Speaking at the opening ceremony, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation, assessed the course as a practical professional activity, contributing to improving capacity, updating knowledge and sharing experiences for doctors and medical staff at clubs and sports medicine centers nationwide.
He emphasized that in modern football, sports medicine and nutrition play a key role in improving physical fitness, maintaining performance, preventing injuries and prolonging a player's career. Therefore, the Vietnam Football Federation always considers the development of sports medicine as one of the important tasks in the strategy of developing professional and sustainable football.

Through this course, the Vietnam Football Federation believes it will create a quality learning and professional exchange environment, where students can access new knowledge from international experts, while strengthening the connection between the sports medicine network and the system of clubs across the country.
In that spirit, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation, expressed his belief that the course will connect and exchange expertise, helping doctors and medical staff at clubs and sports medicine centers develop their skills.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phu emphasized that during training and competition, injuries are inevitable, so specialized training courses will help the medical team update their knowledge and effectively accompany the players in preventing, minimizing and recovering from injuries.
From a professional perspective, Mr. Vu Tu Nam, MD.CKII of Vinmec Time City Hospital, emphasized the importance of sports medicine in ensuring the balance between performance and health of players. He also noted the need for thorough health checks before signing contracts, especially with foreign players at V.League clubs, to limit unnecessary risks.
The training course lasted for 3 days (from November 13-15), focusing on many highly practical topics in football and sports such as: muscle injuries in athletes (examination, diagnosis, classification); causes and treatment of anterior knee pain; fractures in young athletes; anatomy and biomechanics of meniscus in diagnosis and treatment; safe use of functional foods; and rehabilitation after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

Tomorrow (November 14), the course will be taught by Professor Dato' Dr. Gurcharan Singh, Chairman of the AFC Medical Council, and AFC experts on topics directly related to the players' performance. In addition, the course will also be accompanied by Dr. Julian Maria Alvarez Garcia, member of the Herbalife Global Nutrition Council.
With a team of prestigious lecturers and modern approaches, the training course is expected to bring practical values to sports medicine in Vietnamese football.
This is also a concrete step of the Vietnam Football Federation in standardizing medical staff, improving the quality of professional support for clubs, and contributing to building a scientific foundation for the long-term development of players.
