
This is a race aiming for a tobacco-free environment. A notable highlight of this year's tournament is the sudden increase in the number of international athletes, with 2,500 international athletes from nearly 70 countries, nearly double the number of the 2024 season.
The impressive growth figures show that this is the race with the largest number of international athletes in Vietnam, affirming the strong attraction as well as the opportunity to reach international level of Vietnam Marathon.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh - General Director of Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam shared: "As the main sponsor of the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2025, we are delighted that the race has become an iconic international event of Vietnam, attracting tens of thousands of athletes from all over the world , promoting the connection of all classes in society, encouraging and motivating the community to maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle."
Also this morning, the opening ceremony of the Expo exhibition area within the framework of the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2025 season was held. This is an event aiming at the professional criteria of international tournaments, combining cultural and commercial elements, to better serve the needs of athletes and spectators.
The exhibition will officially open to visitors from 8:30 a.m. on November 7 and last throughout the 3 days of the tournament with the participation of many major brands, especially brands related to sports, health care and comprehensive beauty.
Many activities as well as attractive and valuable gift programs will take place at the booths to bring many interesting experiences to athletes, guests and their families on the weekend.

With the message “Breakthrough, reach further – Together, we run further”, tomorrow, November 8, the first thousands of athletes will compete in the 5 km and 2.1 km distances for children. Athletes in the 42 km, 21 km and 10 km distances will officially compete on the morning of November 9.
A special highlight of the 2025 season is the setting of the starting and finishing points at Quan Ngua Sports Palace, opening up a nearly 10km completely flat route along West Lake. This is considered one of the most beautiful and ideal routes in the capital, giving athletes the opportunity to accelerate and break through personal achievements.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tri, General Director of DHA Vietnam shared: “Choosing a new starting and finishing point at Quan Ngua Sports Palace not only optimizes the experience for athletes, but also creates a foundation for the goal of having tens of thousands of participants in the future, approaching major running competitions in the world.”
