In Chinese chess, Vietnam participated with players: Lai Ly Huynh, Nguyen Minh Nhat Quang, Ton That Nhat Tan, Ha Van Tien, Dao Van Trong and Phan Nguyen Cong Minh.

In particular, the new world champion Lai Ly Huynh will have the opportunity to compete again with Chinese players after the world championship in September in Shanghai (China).

Lai Ly Huynh won the world championship, making history for Vietnamese chess.
At that tournament, Lai Ly Huynh drew with Doan Thang and Manh Phon Due in the group stage, then defeated Doan Thang in the final match to help Vietnamese chess win the world championship for the first time in history, breaking the dominance of Chinese chess for nearly 36 years.
At the congress in Singapore, in addition to Doan Thang and Manh Phan Due, Lai Ly Huynh also had the opportunity to compete with two other Chinese players, Vuong Vu Bac and Vuong Gia Thuy.
According to the rules, the players will play 9 rapid chess games and 9 blitz chess games to find the champion.

In chess, Vietnam has only one representative, Le Tuan Minh (Elo 2,582). Tuan Minh is considered the third best player in Vietnam at the moment, after Le Quang Liem and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son.
The 29-year-old player won the national championship in 2020, then won 2 gold medals (1 individual, 1 team) at the 31st SEA Games in 2022. Last year, he made a strong impression with an individual bronze medal at the Chess Olympiad.
In particular, Tuan Minh is very strong in rapid chess and blitz chess. These are also the two events that this player will compete in at the congress in Singapore.
According to experts, with his current strength and form, Tuan Minh can completely compete for high rankings at the congress.
