Worry from the defense...

Although U22 Vietnam kept a clean sheet against U22 China, the defense still left many questions. The defense system operated unsynchronized and repeatedly created dangerous gaps for the home team to exploit.

Although U22 China did not play really well, they still created at least 2 good chances. Luckily for U22 Vietnam, goalkeeper Cao Van Binh had a great day with unbelievable saves.

U22 Vietnam's defense still has many problems

It is worth mentioning that this discrepancy is not the first time it has appeared, as it has been evident since previous tournaments, but only really revealed when U22 Vietnam faced an opponent of higher quality than the teams they had met before.

The lack of connection between the central defenders, dangerous situations of losing the ball right in front of the 16m50 box and poor marking ability are technical errors that coach Kim Sang Sik needs to quickly fix.

... to the attack line

Statistically, U22 Vietnam has scored in 8 consecutive official matches, a remarkable number. However, that does not mean that the attack is perfect.

Coach Kim Sang Sik's strikers still missed good opportunities and the coordination between the front lines has not really found a common voice and the highest breakthrough.

U22 Vietnam at this time is not the version that makes fans feel secure.

Looking at the victory over U22 China, if not counting the quick counter-attacks that led to Vi Hao being fouled, U22 Vietnam only had 1-2 really sharp combinations.

Many times, the ball was brought up to the middle of the field by U22 Vietnam, but the midfielders were confused, lacked ideas and had to pass it back in a relatively boring way. The speed of movement without the ball was slow and the number of breakthrough passes was too small, so when facing a deep defense, U22 Vietnam appeared extremely deadlocked.

Obviously, coach Kim Sang Sik still has a huge amount of work ahead to prepare for the U23 Asian qualifiers, where the opponents are much stronger and more professional than U22 China.

The biggest luck is that the captain still has time to fix, adjust and build a more systematic playing style for U22 Vietnam.
