Minh Phuc's valuable goal helps U22 Vietnam defeat U22 China
On the evening of November 12, U22 Vietnam won 1-0 against U22 China in the opening match of the international friendly tournament CFA Team China - Panda Cup 2025.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh's team moved to China without the best preparation. The team did not have much time to concentrate before the tournament and U22 Vietnam only had one official training session in the "country of a billion people" before entering the match.
Therefore, Van Khang and his teammates had to play defensively, waiting for counter-attacks against their opponents in the first half. Goalkeeper Cao Van Binh was the hero, shining with many spectacular saves.
Entering the second half, it was coach Dinh Hong Vinh's substitutions that helped the home team play better and have many dangerous attacks.
The opening goal finally came to U22 Vietnam in the 81st minute. Starting from Ngoc My's dribbling on the left wing, he passed the U22 China defender and crossed the ball inside. The home team's center-back failed to clear the ball, creating an opportunity for Minh Phuc to rush in and shoot close to the goal.
This "golden" goal helped U22 Vietnam win all 3 points in the opening match and continued to "rub salt" into the pain of Chinese football.
After the first round of matches, U22 Korea temporarily leads the group after a 2-0 victory over U22 Uzbekistan. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh's team is ranked 2nd, due to a lower goal difference.
