Ho Chi Minh City Tax: Completed the Government's budget collection task nearly 2 months in advance

(HTV) - Ho Chi Minh City collected more than VND510,000 billion in 10 months, completing the Government's budget collection task nearly 2 months in advance, striving to exceed by 25% to reach more than VND871,000 billion in 2025.

In the first 10 months of the year, the total budget revenue in Ho Chi Minh City from taxes was 510,183 billion VND, reaching nearly 102% of the Government's estimate , 98% of the City People's Council's estimate and increasing by approximately 20% over the same period .

Focus on exceeding the 2025 budget revenue target

Highly appreciating this positive result, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc hopes that the entire City's tax sector will further promote the achieved results to excellently complete the task of collecting the budget in 2025 .

From now until the end of the year, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department will focus on implementing key tasks, striving to complete the 2025 budget collection at the highest level.

Mr. Doan Minh Dung - Head of Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department said: "The City Tax Department will strengthen the management and enforcement of tax debts, focus on handling and recovering outstanding debts, promote inspection and examination work, especially in high-risk areas. At the same time, improve management efficiency for business households and individuals, thoroughly resolve outstanding tax refund records, review and optimize the process of handling taxpayers' feedback. The Department also continues to promote digital transformation throughout the system, strengthen inter-sectoral coordination mechanisms to build a network to monitor and control tax losses in a synchronous and effective manner."

Tighten management, prevent revenue loss, increase sustainable revenue

The Tax Department also recommended that the City direct relevant units to coordinate effectively in the fight against budget revenue loss , focusing on implementing the plan "60 peak days of converting the model from lump-sum tax to declaration for business households". At the same time, speed up the progress of processing documents, auctioning projects in the area and urging units to promptly pay the budget for previous year's expenditures and other revenues.

The spirit is to coordinate to collect the budget better, the union committee in charge of making tight records to ensure good collection work, exceeding the assigned collection level by 25%. The city must strive not to be subjective, if the collection level is exceeded, it must be higher to serve the common development of the city, must thoroughly implement tax collection to gain the people's trust".

According to the plan, the total budget revenue in the City in 2025 is assigned to reach over 871 trillion VND , an increase of at least 25% as proposed by the Government .
