Accordingly, the heavy rains at the end of October caused serious damage to the traffic routes in Tra Doc commune with more than 40 large and small landslides. In particular, in addition to landslides from the hills, Route DH8 was also broken and completely collapsed at 3 large points, cutting off 6 villages of the commune from the outside.
According to the actual records of SGGP reporters, the area at the beginning of the DH8 route from Truong Son Dong Street to about 6km inwards is relatively stable. However, the further inwards, this route begins to appear dozens of large and small landslides. In particular, in the area near Nong Van Den Primary School, the flood swept away a section of concrete road and drainage culvert, creating a deep abyss. According to observations, the landslide is about 10m deep and about 15m long.

The flood destroyed the entire concrete foundation and drainage system at the foot of the mountain, completely cutting off traffic. This is the only 32km long road leading to villages 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 of Tra Doc commune, with more than 1,400 households and 7,000 people living there (90% of whom are ethnic minorities of the Cadong ethnic group). The landslide directly affected the lives and activities of the people, especially the travel, study of students and transportation of food.

The Tra Doc commune authorities have built a temporary dirt road inside the landslide site for people to travel temporarily. However, this road can only be used in sunny weather because landslides can easily appear when it rains, which is very dangerous.

Mr. Nguyen Van Xuyen, Vice Chairman of Tra Doc Commune People's Committee, said that the travel of people in 6 highland villages of the commune is facing many difficulties due to landslides.
