Lam Dong: Building a service road for the Lien Khuong – Prenn expressway

Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 (Lam Dong province) said that the project to build a Lien Khuong - Prenn expressway access road with a total cost of 322 billion VND, a length of 12.8 km through Hiep Thanh commune will be implemented in the period of 2025 - 2028.

The Lien Khuong - Prenn Pass Expressway, about 19.2km long, was completed and put into use in sections since 2008. However, currently, only a few sections of more than 5km at both ends of the expressway have been used as residential access roads. The area in the middle of the expressway has not had a parallel access road system, which has long greatly affected the traffic serving the lives and production of people along both sides of the expressway.

Because many sections do not have access roads, people often use rudimentary vehicles and motorbikes to travel on the Lien Khuong - Prenn highway, causing danger to other vehicles. Photo: DOAN KIEN

Due to the lack of a service road, people often use motorbikes and tractors for agricultural production on the Lien Khuong – Prenn highway. In many sections, people living and farming on both sides of the road even break down fences and median strips to cross the highway because they have no other choice.

The construction of the Lien Khuong Expressway - Prenn Pass foot service road will basically connect the entire parallel service road and the existing residential underpasses on the expressway to solve the traffic needs of people along the expressway to National Highway 20.
