This is a concrete activity to implement Plan No. 128/KH-SDL, within the chain of inter-regional tourism development cooperation between Hanoi and the Northwestern localities, aiming to assess potential and find solutions to build connecting tours suitable for the international tourist market.

The program has the participation of many inbound travel businesses and tourism experts. According to the schedule, the units conducted surveys of many destinations in Lai Chau. On November 11, the group departed from Hanoi , traveled through Hoang Lien Pass - the most majestic mountain pass in the Northwest, surveyed the O Quy Ho Heaven Gate Tourist Area at an altitude of over 2,000 m and Rong May Glass Bridge - a unique adventure tourism highlight, opening a series of activities lasting four days.

On November 12, the delegation arrived at Si Thau Chai village, where the Dao Dau Bang people live, which is considered a typical community tourism model with traditional living space and green agricultural livelihood. Next, the delegation visited Lao Chai 1 village of the Mong people, experienced local cuisine, and surveyed inner-city tourist attractions such as Thuong Lake, Ha Lake, Lam Vien, Central Square and Hoang Dieu walking street.

On November 13, the journey took the group to Pu Sam Cap Cave - "The first cave in the Northwest" with its magical beauty, before moving to the ASEAN community tourism village Sin Suoi Ho, Sin Suoi Ho commune. Here, the group stayed overnight in local homestays, visited the Orchid Paradise, Love Waterfall, Heart Waterfall and watched the sunset over the village.

On the morning of November 14, the delegation returned to Tan Phong ward center to attend the seminar "Assessing the feasibility of building a tour connecting Lai Chau - Hanoi for the international tourist market", which took place at Muong Thanh Hotel. At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing the connecting infrastructure system, the ability to serve international visitors, developing unique products, human resources and coordination mechanisms between localities. The formation of the Hanoi - Lai Chau tourism route is considered an important step in the strategy of diversifying products and extending the length of stay of international visitors in the North.

A representative of the Hanoi Department of Tourism said that this was not only a regular survey trip but also an activity to kick off the process of building new sustainable tourism products, connecting the urban center and the natural heritage area. Lai Chau possesses pristine landscapes, strong cultural identity, fresh climate and a friendly homestay system, while Hanoi plays a key role in welcoming international visitors and coordinating tours. When the two localities cooperate, the tour "Hanoi - Lai Chau - Sin Suoi Ho - O Quy Ho" can become a unique tourism product of the North in the period 2025-2030.

According to the orientation, Hanoi will continue to coordinate with Lai Chau and the Northwestern provinces to build a map of connected tourism products, focusing on developing experiential tours, trekking, adventure tourism, eco-resorts and cultural tourism. This is a direction in line with Vietnam's sustainable tourism development strategy, both exploiting natural advantages and contributing to improving the livelihoods and quality of life for local people.

According to Deputy Director of Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Van Cong, Lai Chau has rich tourism resources, unique natural landscapes and diverse cultural identities. Many famous destinations such as O Quy Ho Pass - the longest mountain pass in Vietnam, Rong May Glass Bridge Tourist Area - the highest glass bridge in Southeast Asia, and community tourism villages imbued with ethnic culture have created a unique competitive advantage for the locality.

Since the beginning of the year, Lai Chau has welcomed more than 1.24 million visitors, including more than 22,000 international visitors, with tourism revenue reaching VND 1,085 billion, up 19% over the same period in 2024. Mr. Tran Van Cong emphasized that the tourism cooperation with Hanoi will create momentum for Lai Chau tourism industry to build more high-quality products, contributing to attracting visitors and developing the local economy.
