Phuoc Diem Border Guard Station: Prosecuting a case of illegal possession of drugs

On May 19, Phuoc Diem Border Guard Station (Provincial Border Guard) announced that the unit had decided to initiate criminal proceedings against one subject for illegal possession of drugs.

Previously, at 22:30, May 16, 2023, at the intersection between the Coastal Defense Road and National Highway 1A in Lac Son 2 village, Ca Na commune (Thuan Nam), Phuoc Diem Border Guard Station organized an ambush and arrested Nguyen Minh Hoang, born in 1993, residing in Phuoc Thien 1 village, Phuoc Son commune (Ninh Phuoc) who was carrying on his person 05 (five) plastic bags tied with yellow rubber bands containing a white solid substance; through appraisal, it was determined to be a drug, heroin, weighing 6.0687 grams; at the scene, the unit also seized 01 Sirius motorbike, red and black, license plate: 85D1-28798; 1,570,000 VND in cash and personal papers of the subject.

Through investigation, Hoang confessed to buying drugs from a woman in Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province for 10 million VND for his own use. The unit has completed legal procedures and handed over the subject and evidence of the case to the Investigation Police Agency of Thuan Nam district police according to their authority.

To promptly encourage and motivate, the Provincial Border Guard Command has awarded 5 million VND to officers and soldiers of Phuoc Diem Border Guard Station in the fight against drug crimes in particular and in the management and protection of border security and sovereignty in general.
