Information from Co To island district said that at about 11:46 a.m. on June 9, a fishing boat about 1 nautical mile from Thanh Lan Border Post was in an accident at sea, with 4 people on board.
Immediately upon receiving the news, Thanh Lan Border Guard Station sent 06 officers and soldiers to operate a boat to coordinates 21 degrees 02'35.08"N - 107 degrees 51'00.2"E, successfully rescuing and ensuring the safety of all 4 people on board (including the ship owner and 3 crew members) and at the same time towing the distressed ship to the area near the shore to pump water out of the engine room.
