Mr. Chu Ngoc Ha, Captain of Market Management Team No. 4 (in charge of Chi Lang and Huu Lung districts) shared that the current situation of trading and transporting smuggled goods is still complicated. Implementing the direction of the provincial Market Management Department, the Team has developed a plan for regular inspections, specialized inspections on the circulation stage, as well as inspections of business establishments in the management area.
Talking with the leaders of the provincial Market Management Department, it is known that through inspections on the circulation and market stages, recently, smugglers have found every way to transport smuggled goods, of unknown origin, violating intellectual property rights into the area to sell to businesses in the domestic market, from which the businesses continue to find ways to sell to consumers. Smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin are mainly household appliances, cosmetics, packaged frozen foods, etc.
Mr. Dang Van Ngoc, Head of the Market Management Department of Lang Son province, said: In order to prevent the transportation and trading of smuggled goods and goods of unknown origin, since the beginning of 2025, the Market Management Department of the province has issued plans to strengthen the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Accordingly, implementing the direction of the Department, the Market Management teams have proactively deployed professional measures, thereby detecting many violations.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Market Management Force has inspected, detected and handled 207 cases of smuggling and goods of unknown origin and 14 cases of transporting smuggled and goods of unknown origin in circulation. The total value of the violated goods is nearly 1.1 billion VND, seizing tens of thousands of units of goods of all kinds, mostly household appliances, livestock and poultry products and processed foods.
According to the authorities, in the coming time, commercial activities in the province will continue to be vibrant. Besides the positive aspects, there will continue to be individuals and profiteering establishments trading in goods of unknown origin and smuggled goods.
According to the Head of the Provincial Market Management Department, Dang Van Ngoc, the situation of trading and trading of smuggled goods will continue to have many complicated developments. Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee 389 on strengthening the prevention and control of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, the leaders of the Provincial Market Management Department especially directed the Market Management teams to proactively follow the area; grasp and monitor market developments; do a good job of forecasting, proactively organize inspection and control of goods circulating in the market, in which, focus on implementing professional measures to detect gathering points, establishments trading in goods of unknown origin, smuggled goods in large quantities. At the same time, promote propaganda, popularize the law, mobilize business owners to sign a commitment not to trade in smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, goods violating intellectual property rights.
In terms of circulation, the Market Management force continues to coordinate with the police force to strengthen inspection, control, and prevent smuggling, storage, and illegal transportation of smuggled goods... to protect the domestic business environment and consumer rights.
It can be seen that, in order to completely prevent the transportation and trading of smuggled goods circulating in the market, in addition to the measures of the functional forces, in the coming time, the authorities and the Steering Committee 389 of districts and cities need to continue to promote propaganda for all classes of people on how to recognize, detect and eliminate smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, and goods that violate intellectual property rights. In particular, continue to promote propaganda work "Vietnamese people consume Vietnamese goods", thereby contributing to promoting the production and consumption of domestic goods.
Implementing Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg dated May 15, 2025 of the Prime Minister on launching a peak period to combat, prevent and repel smuggling, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights, as well as implementing Directive No. 13/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the new situation, the People's Committee of Lang Son province has directed anti-smuggling functional forces, relevant departments, People's Committees of districts and cities of the province to synchronously deploy measures to combat, prevent and repel crimes of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, copyright infringement, and infringement of intellectual property rights in the whole province, from May 15, 2025 to June 15, 2025. |
