On January 18th, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited, encouraged, and extended New Year greetings to cadres, Party members, people of various ethnic groups, and units along the border in the localities of Binh Lieu, Hai Ha, and Mong Cai. Accompanying him were Comrade Vi Ngoc Bich, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Khuc Thanh Du, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Commander of the Provincial Military Command.
Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and his delegation visited, extended New Year greetings, and presented gifts to the forces stationed along the border and policy beneficiary households in Binh Lieu district. After listening to the district leaders' report, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive results in socio-economic development and Party building in the district in 2024. Notably, Binh Lieu is the first mountainous rural district in the country to be recognized as a new-style rural district. The lives of the people continue to improve. In addition, the opening of the Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) – Dong Trung (China) bilateral border gate has opened up great development opportunities for Binh Lieu district.
The Provincial Party Secretary also highly appreciated Binh Lieu district for focusing resources on taking care of the people during Tet, including policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services, as well as encouraging functional forces to perform their duties on duty during Tet.
Extending warm greetings and best wishes for the New Year to the Party Committee, government, people of all ethnic groups, and forces stationed along the border of Binh Lieu district on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year, the Provincial Party Secretary expressed his hope that, entering the new year 2025 – a year with many important events and breakthrough tasks – the Party Committee, government, people of all ethnic groups, and forces stationed in Binh Lieu district will continue to unite, agree, and strive to creatively implement solutions for socio-economic development. The focus will be on promoting border trade; contributing to consolidating and deepening the good traditional friendship between the people on both sides of the border and the coordination between the functional forces of both sides.
Before, during, and after Tet (Lunar New Year), all forces must strictly maintain their duty rosters, comply with orders and directives from superiors; they must not be negligent, complacent, or lose vigilance, and must not be caught off guard by any circumstances or situations that may arise.
During his visit to and gift-giving to families receiving preferential treatment in ethnic minority areas and several units in Hai Ha district, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, spent time inquiring about, chatting with, and encouraging the people to strive harder to develop the economy and build a more prosperous and happy life. He requested that the district Party Committee and government continue to effectively lead, direct, and implement tasks related to socio-economic development, new rural construction, border protection and development, and improving the quality of life for the people.
The comrade also expressed his delight and joy at seeing that the Tet celebrations and spring festivities, as well as the care provided to the people during Tet, especially policy beneficiary families, families in difficult circumstances, ethnic minorities, cadres, soldiers, and workers, were carried out very fully and thoughtfully. To ensure that every family and every person can celebrate Tet peacefully, joyfully, and happily, the comrade requested Hai Ha district to continue to carefully review and identify those facing difficulties during Tet to ensure that no one is left behind.
Border security forces are intensifying patrols and controls, closely monitoring the local situation to support other forces in effectively preventing and combating crime during the Tet holiday; strengthening close coordination with local authorities to effectively stabilize public sentiment and organize joyful and safe activities to celebrate the new year.
During the working trip, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and the delegation visited, extended New Year greetings, and presented gifts to encourage cadres, soldiers, functional forces, and policy beneficiary families in Mong Cai City.
After inspecting and conversing with functional forces and city leaders, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged and praised the city's achievements in 2024. Over the past year, Mong Cai City has achieved comprehensive results in all fields. All 19/19 targets for the year were met or exceeded, with many outstanding results; the tourism , service, and trade sectors experienced breakthrough growth, with high state budget revenue, placing it among the leading localities in the province. Import and export turnover reached a record high of 15.3 billion USD. Notably, to date, the city has completed all 20/20 targets set by the City Party Congress Resolution for the 2020-2025 term, with 7 targets exceeded. The city's achievements have made a significant contribution to the province's development.
Along with implementing the goals and targets for 2025, the Provincial Party Secretary also requested that the city continue to focus on implementing social welfare policies from now until the Lunar New Year, ensuring that everyone and every family can celebrate the holiday. At the same time, he urged strengthening security and order; creating favorable conditions for immigration and emigration activities during the peak period before, during, and after the Lunar New Year. He also emphasized focusing on preparing for the Party congresses at all levels, and reorganizing the administrative apparatus according to the directives of the Central Government and the province.
