Comrade Do Van Chien was elected to hold the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

This morning, November 10, the National Assembly passed a resolution on the election of Vice Chairman of the 15th National Assembly for Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee Do Van Chien.

Previously, on November 4, at the National Assembly House, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Hoang Dang Quang, authorized by the Politburo, announced the Politburo's decision on comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ceasing to participate in the 13th Party Central Committee Secretariat, ceasing to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee, ceasing to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations for the 2020-2025 term; transferring, assigning, appointing to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Party Committee and holding the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Comrade Do Van Chien, born in 1962, hometown Tuyen Quang province (old); has a professional degree from the University of Agriculture, majoring in crop cultivation; advanced political theory level.

Comrade Do Van Chien is a member of the 13th Politburo (from May 2024); Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee; Member of the 11th, 12th, and 13th Party Central Committee. Delegate of the 13th, 14th, and 15th National Assembly.

Before being mobilized, assigned and appointed as Standing Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Comrade Do Van Chien had a long time working in Tuyen Quang province (old), holding the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, then he was mobilized, assigned and appointed by the Politburo to be Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term. He held the following positions: Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee; Secretary of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. From February 2025, he was Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front./.
