Young Vietnamese and Cambodian officers strengthen solidarity through friendly exchanges

This activity aims to strengthen solidarity and mutual understanding between young officers of the Vietnam Border Guard and young officers of the Army Command, Gendarmerie Command - Royal Cambodian Army.

Within the framework of the second Vietnam-Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange program, on November 11, at Moc Bai International Border Gate, Ben Cau Commune, Tay Ninh Province, the Border Guard Command, Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command coordinated with the Border Guard Department, Army Command, Gendarmerie Command - Royal Cambodian Army, to organize the Young Officers Exchange program between the two countries.

The program took place with many activities such as welcoming a delegation of young officers from the Kingdom of Cambodia; planting a youth friendship garden and propagating and disseminating laws to officials and people in the border areas of the two countries.

This activity aims to strengthen solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding between young officers of the Vietnam Border Guard and young officers of the Army Command, Gendarmerie Command - Royal Cambodian Army; at the same time, affirm the role of young officers of the two countries in mass mobilization work, contributing to building a peaceful , friendly, cooperative and developed border area.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Colonel Nguyen Quoc Hieu, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Border Guard.

The Cambodian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Tien Sophonrnvong, Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of the Border Guard Department of the Cambodian Army.

After the welcoming ceremony at Moc Bai International Border Gate, the leaders of the two delegations, along with young officers of the Vietnam Border Guard, the Cambodian Gendarmerie and Army, participated in planting youth friendship trees at the Moc Bai International Border Gate Border Guard Station, contributing to the development of green space, raising awareness of environmental protection and strengthening the close relationship between the two forces.

At the Long Thuan Commune Cultural House, Tay Ninh Province, young officers from the Vietnam Border Guard and the Army Command and Gendarmerie Command of the Royal Cambodian Army coordinated to organize propaganda and dissemination of laws to officers and people on the Vietnam-Cambodia border to strictly implement the Agreement on border regulations between the two countries.

Lieutenant General Tien Sophonrnvong affirmed that the Vietnam-Cambodia Young Border Guard Officer Exchange Program is a meaningful activity, contributing to strengthening solidarity, friendship and close cooperation between the border protection forces of the two countries.

Through professional exchange and training activities, young officers from both sides have more opportunities to understand and share experiences in border management and protection, contributing to maintaining security and order and building a peaceful, cooperative and developing border for the common interests of the two peoples.

Lieutenant Ngo Le Phuc Dat, Propaganda Assistant, Political Department, Tay Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command, said that the Agreement on border regulations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the People's Republic of Cambodia (now the Kingdom of Cambodia) signed on July 20, 1983, consisting of 4 chapters and 19 articles, clearly stipulates the residence and crossing of border areas to buy, sell, and exchange goods necessary for the daily life of residents in border areas between the two countries.

According to Lieutenant Dat, the program to disseminate the Agreement on border regulations will help both sides do a good job of educating and propagating to people in border areas to strictly comply with the agreements, conventions, regulations and border agreements that the two governments have signed on not illegally crossing the border...

This is also an opportunity to propagate and fight against transnational crimes; refute distorted arguments about the issue of illegal labor in Cambodia, affecting the reputation of the border protection forces of the two countries.

Lieutenant Colonel Duong Ratana, Battalion Commander, Battalion 335, Kam Pot Provincial Command, Military Region 3, Cambodian Army, shared that in recent times, young officers of the Cambodian Border Guard and the Vietnam Border Guard Command have contributed to ensuring security and order, facilitating border traffic activities through border gates, contributing to socio-economic development, strengthening solidarity, friendship and understanding between the governments, people and border protection forces of the two countries.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lien (Long Truong hamlet, Long Thuan commune, Tay Ninh province) said that after attending the program, she understood more clearly about the Border Regulation Agreement between the two countries and regulations related to entry and exit, trading, and transporting goods across the border, helping people raise awareness and sense of law compliance, join hands to maintain security and order, and build a peaceful and friendly border.

Ms. Lien expressed her hope that in the coming time, the authorities will continue to organize many similar propaganda activities so that people on both sides of the border can correctly understand and properly implement the regulations, contributing to strengthening solidarity and cohesion between the people of Vietnam and Cambodia.

On the same day, the delegation also organized many cultural and sports exchange activities between officers and soldiers of the two countries to strengthen solidarity and friendship between the two nations./.
