Ha Tinh: Complete environmental sanitation and domestic water treatment after floods

On the afternoon of November 11, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Director of the Center for Disease Control of Ha Tinh province (CDC Ha Tinh), said that the localities in the flooded areas in Ha Tinh have basically completed environmental sanitation work, treated domestic water sources, and especially no epidemics occurred during the flood.

According to CDC Ha Tinh , previously, due to the influence of a tropical depression, from October 28 to November 3, flooding occurred in a number of communes and wards in Ha Tinh province, such as: Cam Due, Cam Xuyen, Cam Hung, Cam Lac, Cam Binh communes, Ha Huy Tap ward, Vung Ang, Hai Ninh, Song Tri...

The floods have flooded 5,770 households, 1,641 wells, and 14 welfare facilities including schools and commune health stations in the area.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Director of the Center for Disease Control of Ha Tinh province, and the working group supported people in treating domestic water after the flood.

With the motto "Where the water recedes, the environment will be treated", CDC Ha Tinh has directed medical centers to coordinate with commune and village health stations in flooded areas to guide people in environmental sanitation, cleaning houses and schools, treating environmental pollution, treating domestic water sources, ensuring that secondary environmental pollution and disease outbreaks do not occur.

According to CDC Ha Tinh, during this flood, nearly 1,000 kg of Cloramin B chemical and 78 liters of Perth min 500EC mosquito and insect killer were provided to affected localities to treat water sources and clean the environment to prevent epidemics.
