On the evening of November 11, information from the Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard Command and related units said that the locality continuously recorded 8 cases of fishing boats being sunk by large waves, causing heavy losses to fishermen.
Specifically, on the same morning, in the sea area of village 14, Lien Huong commune (Lam Dong province), unfavorable weather, high waves, strong winds caused 4 fishing boats BTh 81652TS, BTh 80347TS, BTh 80316TS and BTh 82176TS to capsize, run aground or sink completely.
At the same time, at La Gi fishing port (Lam Dong province), two fishing boats BTh 80088TS and BTh 85974TS were also completely sunk by large waves while moving into the port.

In the afternoon, at Ba Dang estuary (Tan Hai commune), two more fishing boats were damaged and sank. Authorities and local people were able to salvage one in time, and efforts are being made to pull the other ashore.
It is known that all fishermen on the boats in distress were rescued safely. However, the shipwrecks caused heavy losses to local fishermen.

In recent days, Lam Dong's coast has continuously had big waves, rising water levels and strong currents, causing a series of fishing boats to get into accidents at ports.
Authorities recommend that fishermen limit going to sea when the water level in the port area is high and flows strongly; at the same time, they organize increased inspections and warnings in the estuary area to avoid unfortunate incidents that may occur.
