Dien Bien: Promoting cooperation in Vietnam-China border management

Under the leadership of the two countries' Parties and States, border and border gate management and protection work has achieved many positive results, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in border areas.

On November 11 in Dien Bien province, the delegation of Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard and the delegation of Pu'er Border Management Team, Muong Khang Immigration Border Inspection Station, China held a 2025 Talks.

The delegation of Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard was led by Colonel Phan Van Hoa, Commander. The delegation of China was led by Political Commissar of the Pu'er Border Management Team, Duong Xuan Lam.

The talks took place in a frank, open, friendly and cooperative atmosphere, highly appreciating the results of coordination between the two sides since the 12th Talks in 2024 up to now.

The two sides affirmed that under the leadership of the two countries' Parties and States, the work of managing and protecting the border and border gates in the area has achieved many positive results, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the border area.

At the talks, the two sides reviewed and comprehensively assessed the cooperation situation in the fields of border patrol and control coordination; combating and preventing transnational crimes such as illegal entry and exit, human trafficking, drugs, online fraud; exchanging information through channels of talks, official letters, hotlines; handing over and returning illegal immigrants; coordinating to promote the opening of the bilateral border gate A Pa Chai (Vietnam) - Long Phu (China); friendly exchange activities...

On that basis, the two sides agreed to further strengthen coordination in the coming time, with the following key contents: continuing to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the "three legal documents" on the Vietnam-China land border; stepping up joint patrol activities and disseminating laws to border residents; intensifying the fight against and effectively preventing cross-border crimes; improving the effectiveness of verification, handover and return of illegal immigrants, striving to respond to information within 7 working days.

The two sides will speed up coordination with local authorities on both sides to soon complete procedures and infrastructure, officially open the A Pa Chai-Long Phu bilateral border gate, creating momentum for socio -economic development in the border area; maintain and diversify forms of information exchange and friendly exchanges between grassroots units and people on both sides of the border.

The two sides continue to strengthen the organization of cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges; political exchanges, young officer exchanges, "Friendship Station-Post" twinning activities, building a peaceful border; visiting, sharing, and congratulating each other on traditional holidays and New Year; advising local authorities to consolidate and establish the content of twinning between villages, hamlets, and towns; friendly border people exchanges, closely linked to the practical situation in the localities of the two sides, thereby contributing to building a common border of peace, friendship, stability, and sustainable development.../.
