- On the afternoon of October 20, the Provincial People's Council, term XVII, 2021 - 2026, held the 41st session (special session) to carry out important contents on personnel work under its authority.

Speaking at the meeting, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: This meeting is an important step in continuing to arrange and perfect the organizational apparatus, aiming to build a team of key leaders of the province with sufficient qualities, capacity, prestige, and equal to the task. Thereby creating a solid foundation to promote the rapid and sustainable development of the province in the coming time.

He suggested that the Provincial People's Council delegates uphold their sense of responsibility, put the common interests of the Party, the province and the people above all else, and exercise their right to vote impartially, objectively, democratically and in accordance with regulations. Each vote must demonstrate careful consideration, wisdom and the highest political responsibility of the elected representative, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the government.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council conducted the process of electing the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term. As a result, comrade Nguyen Canh Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Lang Son Provincial People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term with 100% of the Provincial People's Council delegates attending the meeting approving.

Speaking on accepting the assignment, comrade Nguyen Canh Toan expressed his respect and deep gratitude to the Central Party Secretariat, the Government ; central ministries and branches; the Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the leaders, former leaders of the province, the previous leaders, and all delegates of the Provincial People's Council for entrusting him with the important responsibility.

He affirmed: "This is a great honor, but also a heavy responsibility before the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province."

In his new position, comrade Nguyen Canh Toan emphasized that together with the collective leadership of the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, and localities, he will promote the spirit of "dare to think, dare to speak, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate"; continue to inherit and promote the achievements of previous terms; act resolutely, wholeheartedly, and with all his might, towards the goal of the common interests of the province and the happiness of the people.

He also expressed his wish to continue receiving the attention and comments of the previous provincial leaders; comrades in the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Standing Provincial Party Committee; the consensus, support and supervision of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations; news agencies and newspapers; central agencies and units located in the province, voters and people of all ethnic groups in the province and the business community inside and outside the province with the goal of making Lang Son province a province with fast and sustainable development, confidently entering a new era with the whole country, the era of national development.

The meeting also carried out other personnel work, including the procedure for dismissing the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 17th term, 2021 - 2026 term for 2 comrades: Duong Xuan Huyen, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Luong Trong Quynh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; dismissing the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 17th term, 2021 - 2026 term for comrade Dinh Huu Hoc, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 17th term, 2021 - 2026 term was elected for comrade Duong Xuan Huyen, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, delegate of the Provincial People's Council for the 17th term, 2021 - 2026 term; the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 17th term, 2021 - 2026 term was elected for 2 comrades: Dinh Huu Hoc, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; Tran Thanh Nhan, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Chi Lang Commune Party Committee.
