Dong Ha strives to build a generation of comprehensively developed youth

The Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the 2021-2030 period issued by the Prime Minister in 2021 aims to build a generation of Vietnamese youth who are comprehensively developed, patriotic, self-reliant, proud of their nation, have revolutionary ideals, ambitions, and aspirations to rise up and build the country. After nearly 3 years of implementation in Dong Ha City, the youth development strategy has strongly promoted the role and responsibility of youth union members in participating in socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, while creating consensus and widespread concern from the whole society for youth.

Strengthening the dissemination of legal knowledge

Dong Ha City has 9 wards and 62 neighborhoods, with a population of about 103,466 people. Of which, the youth force from 16 to 30 years old accounts for about 20,006 people, diverse in composition from residents, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, students to workers at enterprises. The City Youth Union and Youth Association have 38 youth union bases and 9 affiliated association committees with a total of 4,176 union members and 7,171 association members.

To implement the youth development strategy, the People's Committee of Dong Ha City has coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the city to organize many propaganda activities to disseminate policies and laws related to youth work.

The Vietnam Youth Union of the city disseminates information through regular meetings, activities, the fanpage "Tuoi Tre Dong Ha", social networks and loudspeakers. The chapters at all levels of the association have organized more than 100 live propaganda sessions, attracting over 20,000 young people to participate in training on important laws ( Military Service, Youth, Cyber ​​Security, Militia and Self-Defense) and the Vietnam Youth Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030 to thoroughly understand the law.

The City Justice Department also built digital communication channels such as fanpage and tiktok channel "Legal Information - Dong Ha". In 3 years (2022-2025), 32 video clips and more than 800 articles were posted, along with 15 legal dissemination conferences, 10 professional training conferences and 1,000 banners and propaganda slogans.

The Vietnam Youth Union of the city also actively directed the grassroots associations to respond to the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas". Propagating and mobilizing members and youth to practice a cultural lifestyle, civilized behavior; preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the locality; eliminating bad customs, superstitions and heresies.

Continue to respond to the Campaign "Youth with traffic culture", build a "Rapid response team on traffic safety" and the model "Clean, beautiful and safe school gate"... contributing to changing the awareness and actions of members and youth in participating in traffic.

Legal education and social evil prevention are given top priority. The City Youth Union Committee has promoted drug, prostitution, and HIV/AIDS prevention, attracting more than 5,000 young people. The association has coordinated with the police force to screen and reform 102 retarded youth in the wards.

Organizing mobile trials of drug cases at schools has had a deterrent effect, raising awareness of preventing social evils in schools. During the term, the affiliated associations coordinated with the same-level unions to register for education and reform, helping 81 retarded and reformed youths, and successfully reformed 53 youths.

Priority support for young entrepreneurs

In order to provide career guidance and livelihood support, the City Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation have coordinated with the Military Command, the Department of Internal Affairs and labor export companies to provide advice and introduce jobs to 90 union members and young people who have completed their military service. Coordinated with the Provincial Employment Service Center to organize a program to provide advice and introduce jobs to over 200 members and young people. The Vietnam Youth Federation at all levels has mobilized resources and coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to support capital for 10 youth economic development models with a total amount of 1 billion VND, helping many young people confidently establish themselves and start a business.

According to Vice Chairman of Dong Ha City People's Committee Nguyen Sy Trong, in order to support young people to rise up, start a business and get rich legitimately, the city has strengthened connections and mobilized many resources. In particular, it has coordinated to take over and effectively manage a savings and loan group for youth union members in Ward 5, completed the documents to mobilize capital to support startups for 22 economic development models among young people with a total amount of more than 1.2 billion VND. Coordinated with the Provincial Employment Service Center to organize 10 consulting activities, helping more than 3,000 members, youth and demobilized soldiers find job opportunities.

The city always considers human resource development, especially education and vocational training for young people to serve the cause of industrialization, modernization and international integration. Mobilizing resources to invest in infrastructure, improving the quality of comprehensive education. At the same time, the planning, arrangement and use of young cadres are also focused.

In particular, the training and fostering of knowledge and leadership and management skills for the planned youth team has always received attention. From 2022 to present, more than 1,000 young cadres, civil servants and public employees have participated in professional training courses, contributing to improving state management capacity.

In addition, cultural and sports institutions for young people have also been gradually invested in and built in accordance with socio-economic conditions, contributing to creating a healthy social environment, creating favorable conditions for young people to practice and improve their physical, cultural and spiritual health, towards comprehensive development.

To complete the targets of the Youth Development Program for the period 2021 - 2030, the locality will promote propaganda and education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, law, professional ethics and cultural lifestyle for the young generation. At the same time, propaganda will raise awareness, enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of state management of youth work. Thereby, helping young people clearly understand their responsibilities in the period of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country.
