Twelve teams participated in the competition, comprising 48 parents whose children attend the schools, with 893 children benefiting from the program. The schools formed groups of fathers, each responsible for one cooking session. Through the competition, the children were very excited to see their fathers come to school to cook and to enjoy the dishes prepared by their fathers.

At Ban Bo Kindergarten in Ban Bo commune, fathers arrived very early to participate in the competition. Mr. Vang Van Din – the leader of the "Teamwork" group – shared: "When the school announced the competition, I was very moved and somewhat hesitant because I was worried that as a member of an ethnic minority group and a man, I might be clumsy in cooking. But with the encouragement of the teachers, I decided to participate. I think that if I didn't participate in this competition, I wouldn't know when I would have the opportunity to express my feelings for my 5-year-old daughter. Thank you to the CARE Project for giving me the chance to show my love for my child in front of a crowd, helping me overcome prejudiced barriers when sharing household chores, caring for my children's education, and especially understanding and sharing the work with women in raising young children in modern society."

The dads from the Đồng Đội group, Bản Bo Kindergarten, participated in the "Dad as a Chef" competition.

To successfully organize the competition, Ban Bo Kindergarten developed a plan and created a reasonable and balanced menu, ensuring proper nutrition for the children. Four teams were formed with funny and adorable names such as: The Amazing Dads, The Happy Dads, Teamwork, and The Big Family. Accompanying the teams were the school's health staff and school cafeteria staff. Ms. Phung Thi Phuong – Principal of Ban Bo Kindergarten – said: "With the support of the CARE Project, the 'Dad as a Chef' competition brings many benefits not only to the fathers but also improves the quality of meals for the children. We sincerely thank the CARE Project for supporting the school financially and materially, and for raising community awareness about the role of the family, especially the fathers, in cooking, preparing meals for the family, and collaborating with the school in educating children." We hope that in the future the school will continue to receive the project's attention so that fathers can have even more enjoyable experiences.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Binh Lu Kindergarten in Binh Lu commune has 14 classes with 286 students. Mr. Dang Van Thuy, father of Dang Xuan Phuc, a 3-year-old student, enthusiastically said: "This is the first time I've participated in the 'Dad as a Chef' competition. My teammates and I got to directly cook for the children at school. I had the opportunity to bond with other fathers and children in the educational environment. Through this meaningful activity, I understand more about my child's eating, sleeping, and learning at school. I also feel very reassured knowing my child is studying here."

The children at Binh Lu Kindergarten enjoy the food prepared by their fathers.

Comrade Khoang Thi Thanh Nga – Provincial Party Committee member, President of the Provincial Women's Union, said: With the aim of organizing activities that involve fathers in childcare, creating conditions for men to share the burden of unpaid work with women, the Provincial Women's Union has recently coordinated with the CARE Project to organize many activities aimed at improving the quality of life, such as cooking competitions, the "Happy Road" race, etc., which have helped to strengthen family bonds, create gender equality, and enhance the economic status of ethnic minority women. With the support of the CARE Project, many benefits have been brought not only to fathers but also improved the quality of meals for young children in preschools.

Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union and Ban Bo Kindergarten congratulated the fathers who won prizes in the "Dad as a Chef" competition.

The "Dad as a Chef" competition has concluded, but its value and significance will remain, evoking sacred feelings that are difficult to express in words. The competition helped fathers better understand their responsibilities and those of their families in collaborating with schools to raise their children, thereby fostering greater love and creating a solid foundation for a holistic learning and development environment.
