Accompanying to make Thai Nguyen tea become a cultural symbol

Known as “The First Famous Tea”, Thai Nguyen identifies tea as a key product with great brand value. With the goal of turning tea into a “billion dollar” crop, the province has been promoting brand promotion activities, building and developing the art of tea into a unique cultural feature. In that journey, Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative is honored to accompany and contribute to raising the brand “Thai Nguyen Tea” to reach further in the domestic and international markets.

Thai Nguyen currently has over 23,000 hectares of tea, with 5 specialty tea regions including: Tan Cuong (Thai Nguyen City); La Bang (Dai Tu); Trai Cai (Dong Hy) and Khe Coc (Phu Luong). The economic value of tea reaches over 13,000 billion VND/year, with an average revenue of 420-550 million VND/ha. The Prime Minister has approved the Project to preserve and promote the tangible and intangible cultural values ​​of Thai Nguyen tea; the Department of Intellectual Property ( Ministry of Science and Technology ) has issued protection documents for tea products.

At the recent meeting and working session with tea artisan Hoang Anh Suong and artists and businessmen working in the fields of business, promotion, product introduction and tea culture, Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Viet Hung emphasized: Thai Nguyen will create the most favorable conditions in all aspects for artisans and businesses to exchange, cooperate, propose initiatives, build specific programs and plans to promote and enhance the position of Thai Nguyen tea.

He assigned the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with the Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative, artisan Hoang Anh Suong and businesses to research and propose specific contents.

To concretize the direction of the Provincial Party Secretary, Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative has proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to implement the program "Elevating Thai Nguyen tea brand to tea culture". The goal of the Program is to enhance the position, brand and value of tea trees, as well as tea products of the province; consolidate and develop Thai Nguyen tea art to become a unique cultural feature.

Accordingly, the Program will be implemented in 2 phases. Phase 1 will be implemented in 2024, Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative will sponsor all costs to organize 4 training courses on tea culture directly taught by artisan Hoang Anh Suong; Phase 2 will be implemented from the beginning of 2025 until the 4th International Tea Festival in 2025, will continue to organize 12-16 training courses to enhance the brand position and value of tea trees, consolidating Thai Nguyen tea art into a unique cultural feature.

Following the success of the 3 times the province organized the Tea Festival, Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative also proposed to accompany and coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee to organize the 4th International Tea Festival in 2025.

Mr. Dinh Huy Chien, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative, shared: With a passion for tea culture, we will accompany the province and especially accompany the people, businesses, and tea entrepreneurs to further enhance the value of Thai Nguyen tea products. And the roadmap "Elevating Thai Nguyen tea brand to tea culture" has been launched with training courses and exchanges between tea artisans and members of associations, unions, cooperative unions, tea craft villages... in the province. In particular, artisan Hoang Anh Suong presented methods of creating and developing brands, promoting images and products to domestic and foreign consumers, and ways to win customers.

According to the plan, in the period of 2025-2030, Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative will continue to organize training courses on tea culture according to actual needs; carry out contents to serve the next international tea festival of the province.

The efforts and enthusiasm of businesses to accompany the province to elevate the brand and art of Thai Nguyen tea to become a unique cultural feature are very valuable, a great resource for Thai Nguyen to develop attractive cultural tourism and tea products, contributing to the development of tourism in the direction of green and sustainable growth.
