* Pig price in the Northern region:
The price of live pigs in the North has decreased in most provinces and cities. Currently, this area is trading in the range of 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, apart from Hai Duong , Hung Yen, and Hanoi, where prices remained unchanged, the remaining localities saw a decrease of VND1,000 - 2,000/kg. Of which, Lao Cai and Ninh Binh are currently selling live pigs at VND62,000/kg, the lowest in the region.
*Pig price in Central Highlands region
The downward trend is also seen in many localities. Currently, traders in the Central region are purchasing live pigs at 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg. Of which, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa recorded 60,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the region.
*Pig price in the Southern region:
After a decrease of 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg in all provinces and cities this morning, the Southern region is buying and selling live pigs at around 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg. Accordingly, live pigs in Tay Ninh, Can Tho, Ca Mau, Ba Ria - Vung Tau are currently priced at 63,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.
*China: Raising more than 1 million pigs in a 26-story 'apartment building', consuming more than 453,000 kg of food per day, with strict supervision like NASA.
At the end of September 2022, the first sows will be brought to this giant 26-story building, where they will live from birth to adulthood.
Curiously, this is how China developed its pig farming industry in a context of scarce agricultural land, lagging food production, and pork supply becoming an essential goal.
In the special building, the breeding pigs are monitored by cameras by technicians working inside a command center that looks like NASA. Each floor is a closed farm that simulates different stages of pig development: a gestation area, a farrowing room, a nursing area, and a finishing area.
Every day, more than 453,000 kg of feed is delivered to the floors via automated high-tech feeders that can dispense feed based on the pigs' needs, weight and health.
The pig “apartment” in the suburbs of Ezhou, a city on the southern bank of the Yangtze River, is hailed as the world’s largest independent pig farm. Its expected processing capacity can reach 1.2 million pigs per year.
