On November 10, at the 6th session, the People's Council of Dong Nai province, term X, passed resolutions to invest in a series of infrastructure projects connecting with Ho Chi Minh City.
Specifically, the Provincial People's Council has agreed on the investment policy for three major bridges: Cat Lai Bridge, Phu My 2 Bridge and Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2).
According to the approved resolution, the People's Council of Dong Nai province agreed to assign the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to be the competent authority to implement the Phu My 2 bridge project under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, while the People's Committee of Dong Nai province will be in charge of investing in the Cat Lai bridge and Dong Nai 2 bridge, also under the PPP model.

In addition, the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council also approved the investment policy for three other connecting bridges between the two localities, including Thanh Hoi 2 Bridge, Tan An Bridge and Tan Hien Bridge.
Of which, Thanh Hoi 2 bridge connecting Tan Khanh ward (HCMC) with Tan Trieu ward (Dong Nai) and Tan An bridge connecting Tan An commune (Dong Nai) with Thuong Tan commune (HCMC) will be invested in the period of 2026 - 2030 from the HCMC budget, with the HCMC People's Committee as the implementing agency.
Tan Hien bridge, connecting Thuong Tan commune (HCMC) with Tan Trieu ward (Dong Nai), will use Dong Nai province's budget and be implemented by Dong Nai province's People's Committee.
Along with bridge construction projects, Dong Nai Provincial People's Council also approved the investment policy for Huong Lo 2 route, from National Highway 51 to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, with a total estimated investment of nearly VND5,900 billion.
Currently, the transportation system connecting Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City is mainly based on 3 modes of transport: road, rail, and waterway, of which road transport is the main one.
However, with increasing traffic density, existing roads are overloaded, causing constant congestion such as National Highway 1, National Highway 51...
Although, in recent times, connecting routes between the two provinces have been invested in such as belt roads and highways, they still have not met expectations and traffic connection needs, especially when Long Thanh International Airport is officially put into operation.
Investing in traffic projects connecting Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City aims to gradually complete the traffic system according to the Southeast region planning, to serve the travel needs, freight transport and socio-economic development of the two localities.
