The market recovered with the breakthrough of banking stocks, along with that, securities, retail and real estate codes also increased well and supported the general market.
The market in the session of April 8 recovered to a short-term balance at 1,258, but supply pressure pushed back the VN-Index, closing at 1,250.35 points. Liquidity decreased but remained high, reaching 20,600 billion in the whole market and 18,000 billion on the HoSE floor. The market continued to face strong selling pressure in the last few minutes of the session and significantly affected investor sentiment.
After three consecutive sessions of decline, investors continued to be cautious in the trading session on April 9, causing the indices to fluctuate narrowly around the reference level. In the first hour and a half of trading, the VN-Index fluctuated above the reference level. After that, selling pressure continued to increase and pushed the VN-Index back below the reference level. However, liquidity in the morning session remained low, showing that supply was gradually depleted and the decrease of the VN-Index was not large.
In the afternoon session, after a period of initial struggle, the recovery took place. VN-Index expanded its green color due to the positive spread from many stock groups.
The most notable stock today is MWG. This is the main factor that helps stabilize investor sentiment as well as initiate the recovery of the general market. MWG closed the session up 5.6% to VND52,800/share and matched 19.5 million units, of which foreign investors net bought 5.27 million units. Significant information supporting MWG today is that Bach Hoa Xanh Investment and Technology JSC (BHX Investment) - a subsidiary of MWG has just announced that it has completed the transaction of offering individual shares to investors. The ratio of shares offered is 5% of the total number of shares issued.
Some other retail stocks such as PET, DGW or PNJ also traded positively despite being under pressure at the beginning of the session. PET increased by 2.9%, DGW increased by 2%, PNJ increased by 1.6%.
After a period of strong adjustment, the group of securities stocks also had a good recovery, especially the small and medium-cap stocks, in which, VDS increased by 6.1%, FTS increased by 4.4%, CTS increased by 4%, BVS increased by 8.9%. In the top securities group, VCI also increased by 3.8%, SSI increased by 2.2%, HCM increased by 2.9%.
Meanwhile, the biggest contributor to the market's recovery today was the banking group, in which BID increased by 3.7% and contributed 2.64 points to the VN-Index. CTG also increased by 2.2% and contributed 0.98 points. Notably, LPB was pulled up to the ceiling price and also contributed 0.75 points. Some other large stocks also increased well in today's session, including GVR, MSN and HPG. GVR increased by 1.9%, MSN increased by 2.2% and HPG increased by 1%.
On the other hand, VCB, VPB, FRT and SAB were the stocks that put the most pressure on the VN-Index, of which VCB decreased by 0.6% and took away 0.82 points from the VN-Index. VPB and SAB decreased by 0.3% and 0.5% respectively.

At the end of the trading session on April 9, VN-Index increased by 12.47 points, equivalent to 1% to 1,262.82 points. The entire floor had 332 stocks increasing, 137 stocks decreasing and 71 stocks remaining unchanged. HNX-Index increased by 2.82 points (0.96%) to 240.36 points. The entire floor had 111 stocks increasing, 65 stocks decreasing and 58 stocks remaining unchanged. UPCoM-Index increased by 0.04 points (0.05%) to 90.57 points.
Total trading volume on HoSE reached 717 million shares, worth VND17,147 billion. Meanwhile, trading value on HNX and UPCoM reached VND1,643 billion and VND667 billion, respectively. NVL was the stock with the strongest matching orders in the market with 38.2 million shares, followed by SHS and STB with 19.8 million shares and 18 million shares, respectively.

Foreign investors net bought again today 268 billion VND, in which, this capital flow net bought the most MWG code with 274 billion VND, SBT and BID were net bought 57 billion VND and 48 billion VND respectively.
