In the first semi-final of the 2022/2023 Nations League, the Netherlands will face Croatia. With home advantage, coach Ronald Koeman's team is expected to win a ticket to the final.

The score was tied after regulation time, forcing the two teams into two extra periods. In the 8th minute of the first extra period, Petkovic scored a superb long-range shot to help Croatia take the lead once again. In the 116th minute, Modric successfully converted a penalty to seal a 4-2 victory for the visitors.

Defeating the Netherlands, Croatia won the first ticket to the final of the 2022/2023 Nations League. Their opponent will be the winner of the remaining semi-final between Spain and Italy, taking place at 01:45 on June 16 (Vietnam time).
