At school, the Industrial Electricity profession in particular and other professions in general still lack many models for teaching. Therefore, participating in model design is a common task of teachers and students of Tay Ninh Vocational College.
Struggling to convey knowledge so that students can grasp lessons quickly, effectively and apply them in practice, Mr. Truong Minh Trieu - Industrial Electricity teacher, researched, created and applied the initiative "Designing a model to stabilize motor speed on Webserver".
Mr. Truong Minh Trieu shared that before this initiative, the school's PLC (programmable controller) practice room mainly studied Siemens' S7-200 PLCs. These PLC lines are only suitable for small projects and Siemens has now stopped producing them, replaced by the S7-1200 since 2009.
Faced with the above reality, teachers and students in the Department of Electricity have built and designed a model to stabilize the motor speed on the Webserver with the purpose of connecting PLC to the web, through devices with wifi connection capabilities such as: laptops, smartphones, tablets... to control the model remotely via the network. The model mainly serves the subjects of Electric Drives, Basic and Advanced PLC according to the Industrial Electricity training program of the school.
Nguyen Thien Phuc, a student of Industrial Electricity class 9A2, said: "After being put into teaching, Mr. Trieu's initiative has helped students understand and remember the lesson content more easily, and apply it well in practice during practical lessons."
Mr. Vo Van Dieu - Head of the Department of Industrial Electricity said: "The initiative "Designing a model to stabilize motor speed on the Webserver" by Mr. Truong Minh Trieu was recognized by the Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Department of Home Affairs) as a self-made training device in the 2022 Provincial Self-made Training Device Competition and won third prize in the 7th National Self-made Training Device Competition, and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Ministry of Home Affairs ).
Realizing the importance of helping metal cutting students of the school have a more complete view of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, the group of authors Nguyen Thanh Thao, Nguyen Khoa Quan, Khuat Anh Vu, Ho Van Nguyen, in which Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thao is the team leader, created a "Model of CNC milling machine integrated with laser" to serve the teaching and learning of students of the school's Mechanical Engineering department.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thao, the team leader, said that the model was manufactured and programmed with G code, so it can be applied to teaching in the integrated module in metal cutting and can be processed on materials such as wood, mica, plastic, aluminum, copper, brass. On the other hand, this model has a much cheaper price and manufacturing cost than a 4-axis CNC machine, making teaching easier. After completion, the CNC milling machine model costs about 50 million VND.
Mr. Nguyen Khoa Huan, in charge of the school's Mechanical Engineering Department, shared: "The process of researching and manufacturing the model was assigned very specific tasks by the group of authors according to each person's expertise and technique. The processing details for the model are very realistic, attracting students to participate." The model was introduced by the school to participate in the National DIY Training Equipment Competition and was honored to win Second Prize.
According to Mr. Chau Thanh Trong - Principal of Tay Ninh Vocational College, from 2019 to now, the school has had 7 initiatives for homemade training equipment. The results of the 7 initiatives all won prizes at the national competition, including 4 second prizes, 2 third prizes and 1 encouragement prize. Every year, the school also organizes electricity saving competitions, vocational skills competitions for students and launches a patriotic emulation movement for the period 2021-2025.
