Hanoi honors skilled workers and commends 100 outstanding initiatives

Attending the program were Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu; Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Pham Qui Tien; along with 100 workers and civil servants who won the title "Initiative and creativity in the Capital's civil servants and laborers" and contestants participating in the Hanoi City Skilled Worker Competition in 2025.

According to the report of the City Labor Federation, after 6 years of launching, the movement "Initiatives and Creativity among Workers in the Capital" has had a strong change in both quality and quantity and spread in all fields. Many inventions, initiatives, technical solutions, applications of scientific and technical advances, equipment and technological innovations have been implemented to help businesses and units overcome difficulties, maintain production and business; promote labor productivity, improve competitiveness...

In 2025, 80,925 initiatives were recognized at the grassroots level. From 682 initiatives and scientific topics, of which 536 initiatives had a monetary value, with a profit of more than 363 billion VND, the City Labor Federation Emulation Council selected and recognized 100 typical "Initiatives in the Capital's Workers" in 2025.

Many initiatives of workers have been applied not only to bring high economic efficiency, benefiting businesses tens and hundreds of billions of VND each year, but also to have positive social security implications, creating jobs for thousands of workers in the capital.

Regarding the Skilled Worker Competition, 2025 is the fourth time the City People's Committee and the City Labor Federation have jointly organized it to honor skilled workers, talented workers, and creative workers.

The contest is also an opportunity for workers in units and enterprises in the area to exchange and learn experiences in labor and production, contributing to building a team of skilled technical workers with good ethics and industrial style; capable of meeting increasingly advanced and modern technology and production equipment, setting new records in labor productivity, progress and product quality.

This year's contest has 362 contestants from 60 businesses, with 11 competing professions, including: Universal lathe, universal milling, CNC lathe, CNC milling, electric welding, _CO2 welding and Tig welding, industrial electronics, industrial electricity, computer drawing and design, industrial sewing, and automotive technology.

The contestants went through 2 parts of theory and practice with thrilling moments. Based on the results of the Jury's scoring, the Organizing Committee issued a decision to award certificates and prizes to 112 prize-winning contestants. Of which, there were 11 First prizes, 22 Second prizes, 33 Third prizes and 46 Encouragement prizes. The First prize winners of 11 contest professions, in addition to the prize money of 10 million VND, were also awarded Certificates of Merit by the Hanoi People's Committee.

Speaking at the program, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu suggested that the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor continue to pay attention to maintaining and developing emulation movements in general, and innovation and creativity movements in particular, so that the spirit of innovation and creativity spreads and permeates the lives of employees and workers, becoming the culture of each enterprise, in which attention should be paid to promoting the movement in state-owned enterprises.

At the same time, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu suggested that when negotiating, concluding collective labor agreements, trade unions should include provisions on the rights of innovators and creators commensurate with their contributions.

The Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor hopes that the examples of initiative, creativity, and good workers that are being recognized will spread the achievements, honor, pride, and spirit of initiative and creativity in their agencies and units to promote the development of emulation movements.
