Forecast for domestic pepper price tomorrow, July 16, 2025, recovering to the peak of 141,000 VND/kg

Today's pepper price was updated on the afternoon of July 15, 2025 as follows: The domestic market fluctuated and increased compared to yesterday, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg in all localities. Currently, the average pepper purchase price in key areas is 139,600 VND/kg.

Specifically, today's pepper price in Gia Lai province increased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday's trading session, currently the pepper purchasing price in this locality is at 139,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, pepper prices in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau merged) also increased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous trading session, currently pepper prices are purchased at 139,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices in Dak Lak continued to increase compared to yesterday's trading session. Currently, pepper prices in this locality are purchased by traders at 141,000 VND/kg.

Today's pepper price in Dong Nai (formerly merged Binh Phuoc) also fluctuated upward, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg, currently the pepper purchase price is at 139,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Lam Dong (formerly merged Dak Nong) turned to increase, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg, currently traders buy pepper in this locality at a price of 140,000 VND/kg.

The domestic pepper market is expected to continue to be under pressure from a slight increase in supply as many farmers begin to release their products after a period of hoarding and waiting for good prices. Although pepper output this year is not as abundant as in previous years, the inventory from previous crops and domestic supply are still sufficient to meet short-term trading demand. This may make it difficult for domestic pepper prices to increase sharply, but tend to remain stable or decrease slightly in the short term.

According to a report from Thanh Nien Newspaper, since the beginning of July, domestic pepper prices have shown signs of increasing again due to scarce supply and are expected to continue to increase due to the US imposing higher reciprocal tariffs on pepper-producing countries. In many large pepper growing areas in the Southeast and Central Highlands, pepper prices are currently fluctuating at 140,000 - 142,000 VND/kg, an increase of 7,000 - 11,000 VND/kg compared to the end of last month.

Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also said that in the first half of 2025, pepper exports to many major markets increased sharply compared to the same period last year. The US was the most important market, increasing by 35% and accounting for 27% of the market share; Germany grew by 74% with over 9% of the market share; India accounted for 8% of the market share and grew by 87%. In particular, the UK increased by 2.1 times in the top 15 largest export markets.

World pepper price forecast tomorrow, July 16, 2025, flat and slightly down.

According to the forecast of world pepper prices tomorrow, the market tends to move sideways and decrease slightly, but still records fluctuations in increase and decrease in countries.

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC) on the afternoon of July 16, 2025 as follows: Markets in many countries fluctuated little, remained stable and moved sideways compared to yesterday's trading session.

Specifically, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,240 USD/ton; meanwhile, Muntok white pepper was purchased at 10,092 USD/ton, down slightly by 2.11 and 0.84 USD respectively compared to the previous session.

The Malaysian pepper market continues to remain stable, moving sideways. Currently, the price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is purchased at 8,900 USD/ton and the price of ASTA white pepper is at 11,750 USD/ton.

Pepper prices in Brazil also maintained a stable trend after many previous sessions of increase and decrease. Currently, the purchasing price reached 5,800 USD/ton, down 7.33 USD compared to the previous session.

Vietnam's pepper export market remains stable and flat compared to many previous sessions. Currently, the export price of Vietnamese black pepper is at 6,440 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l is at 6,570 USD/ton and the price of white pepper is at 9,150 USD/ton.

Converted to VND/kg, pepper prices of all types range from about VND152,598/kg (Brazil Black Pepper ASTA 570) to VND309,143/kg (Malaysia White Pepper ASTA), reflecting the diversity and relative stability in the global pepper market.

In terms of exports, pepper prices remain high thanks to the recovery of demand from major markets such as the US, EU and the Middle East. However, delivery speed and order volume have not seen a clear breakthrough due to difficulties in international payments, especially the impact of exchange rate fluctuations and transportation costs.

In the world market, pepper prices are expected to continue to fluctuate strongly when the US announced high reciprocal tariffs on Brazil (50%) and Indonesia (32%). Vietnam is currently the world's largest pepper exporter in 2024, with an export output of 249,000 tons, worth 1.3 billion USD, down 6.2% in volume but up 44% in value compared to 2023. This is the first time in many years that Vietnamese pepper has returned to the billion-dollar export "club", creating more competitiveness in the international market.

In summary, pepper prices on July 16, 2025 are forecasted to fluctuate slightly domestically due to increased supply, while exports will maintain stable growth thanks to demand from major markets and competitive price advantages. Growers and businesses need to closely monitor market developments to make appropriate decisions.
