On the days approaching Lunar New Year, Sa Dec flower village ( Dong Thap ) is brilliant with colors, amidst the bustling atmosphere of a chilly spring day.
This is also the time when tourists from all over flock to the flower village to have fun, take pictures and shop.
Ms. Nguyen Huynh Nhu (in Can Tho City) said that near Tet, she and a group of 8 friends went on 4 motorbikes to Sa Dec flower village to visit and take pictures. This is the most beautiful time to visit the flower village because the flowers are blooming beautifully and the charming fragrance creates a peaceful feeling.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc ( An Giang ) shared: "I saw online that the flower village was in full bloom. Unable to control my emotions, I came here with my family to visit and enjoy. I also bought a few pots of flowers to celebrate Tet."
Mr. Ho Huu Tai (56 years old) said: His family planted more than 7,000 pots of chrysanthemums of all kinds to serve the Tet Quy Mao 2022 market, all the flowers in the garden have been bought by traders. Only a few are left for sale in the garden, also for tourists to visit and take pictures.
According to the People's Committee of Sa Dec City, the locality currently has over 2,300 households growing ornamental flowers with an area of 946.5 hectares with over 2,000 different types of products concentrated in Tan Quy Dong and An Hoa wards and Tan Khanh Dong and Tan Quy Tay communes, helping to bring in VND 3,349 billion in revenue to the locality in 2022.
For the 2023 Tet flower crop, farmers have sown about 100 hectares so far, an increase of 50% compared to the 2022 Tet flower crop. The types of flowers grown include 16 hectares of raspberry chrysanthemums; 5 hectares of kumquats; about 50 hectares of Tiger, Taiwanese and Pico chrysanthemums; about 30 hectares of various marigolds.
Previously, Dong Thap province opened the "Tourism Week associated with the Quy Mao Spring Flower Festival 2023" taking place from January 6 to 13 in Sa Dec city (Dong Thap).
This is a flower-related tourism activity that attracted about 352,000 visitors in 2022, with total revenue from tourism services reaching nearly 3,350 billion VND.
