Developing the Vietnam-Brunei Darussalam Comprehensive Partnership in a deeper and more substantial manner

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pleasure at meeting the King again to review and discuss directions for implementing the agreements reached, especially the Action Program to implement the Comprehensive Partnership for the 2023-2027 period and the results and agreements reached during the Prime Minister 's recent official visit to Brunei.

The two sides agreed that the bilateral relationship has made impressive progress, especially in trade, oil and gas, national defense and security, and people-to-people exchange.

The Prime Minister suggested that the two countries soon discuss and sign an intergovernmental agreement on rice trade, contributing to ensuring food security; at the same time, strengthen cooperation in developing Vietnam's Halal food production industry in Brunei.

The Prime Minister also proposed promoting cooperation and exchanging experiences in developing the oil, gas and chemical industries; Brunei increasing scholarships for Vietnam and promoting cooperation between universities; expanding training cooperation to other fields such as technology, green economy, digital transformation...

To develop the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries more deeply and substantially, the Prime Minister suggested that both sides expand security and defense cooperation and direct exchanges between the two countries' forces.

The Sultan of Brunei assessed that the official visit to Brunei by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (February 2023) created momentum to promote bilateral relations and effectively implement the Action Program for the 2023-2027 period.

The King agreed with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s proposals and affirmed that he would pay attention to directing the relevant agencies to actively implement them. The King was pleased with the closer cooperation between businesses of the two countries and affirmed to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to use logistics facilities in Brunei to export goods.

The two leaders also reaffirmed their views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reiterated the invitation, and the Sultan of Brunei affirmed that he will soon visit Vietnam again.
