| Mr. Hoang Khac Thuong - Secretary of the Party Branch and Principal of Chu Van An High School, presented the decision to admit new party members. |
Chu Van An High School is one of the pioneering units and has achieved many encouraging results in this special work. Mr. Hoang Khac Thuong - Party Secretary and Principal of the school, shared: "Since 2019, we have determined that developing Party membership among students is not only a recognition but also a great motivation for their comprehensive development." The school sets strict standards for future "red seeds," including: firm political ideology, aspiration to become a Party member, excellent academic achievements, winning provincial-level or higher awards in competitions organized by the Department of Education and Training and the Ministry of Education for three consecutive years, and active participation in Youth Union activities. Thanks to these criteria, from 2019 to the present, Chu Van An High School has admitted 6 student Party members.
Teacher Thuong added: “In 2024, the school experienced many favorable conditions, with a large number of students winning provincial-level awards, as well as high-quality cultural, artistic, and sports activities. Therefore, in 2024, the school recommended 11 students to attend the Party membership preparatory class. After monitoring and reviewing, it is expected that 5-6 students will be admitted to the Party in 2025. Currently, the school's Party branch has assigned Party members to be in charge of developing Party membership for these students; guiding them in filling out their personal information forms and completing the necessary paperwork. The school will complete the applications for the first admission round around the beginning of May; the second round is expected around July-August this year, depending on the students' age.”
According to statistics from the Duc Trong District Party Committee, the entire district Party organization currently has 63 grassroots Party organizations with 4,900 Party members. From the beginning of 2020 to June 2024, 487 new Party members were admitted, including 7 students from 3 high schools in the district, namely: 4 from Chu Van An High School, 2 from Duc Trong High School and 1 from Luong The Vinh High School.
To achieve these results, the Duc Trong District Party Committee has implemented and concretized the directives of the Central and Provincial Party Committees on Party development among students. Plan No. 96-KH/HU and Plan No. 159-KH/HU have been issued, directing grassroots Party organizations to develop plans and assign annual targets for admitting new Party members, with particular emphasis on the proportion of Party members who are Youth Union members, young people, and high school students. Among the annual targets, each high school strives to admit at least one student.
In addition, the District Party Committee has strengthened its guidance, supervision, and instruction to Party organizations through numerous specific documents. Emphasis has also been placed on providing training for prospective Party members and students. From 2020 to the present, 10 training courses on Party awareness have been organized for 1,120 outstanding individuals, including 62 high school students, along with 8 political theory training courses for 558 new Party members.
In its overall assessment of this work, the Duc Trong District Party Committee acknowledged the outstanding advantages such as: the strong attention from Party committees at all levels, the proactive approach of high schools in creating and nurturing student Party members, and the strict implementation of the Party membership admission process. The new student Party members are all individuals with excellent academic performance, good conduct, and active participation in Youth Union activities, achieving high results in examinations.
However, some limitations remain, such as the fact that some high school Party branches have not yet promptly reviewed potential candidates and developed plans for Party member recruitment. A notable difficulty is the academic pressure, which makes it difficult for students to participate in Party awareness training courses. In addition, the age requirement for Party membership (18 years old at the time the Party branch considers admission) is also a challenge, as many outstanding students are not yet old enough to be considered.
Nevertheless, with dedicated efforts and close guidance, the work of developing Party members among students in Duc Trong has been making a significant contribution to building a team of young, high-quality Party members with strong political convictions, contributing to the overall development of the locality in the future. "Nurturing the Red Seed" from high school is not only a political task but also a strategic investment in Duc Trong's young, promising human resources.
