(QNO) - The Provincial People's Committee has agreed to technically stop some items of the project "Developing the environment and urban infrastructure to respond to climate change in Hoi An City".

The items that will be temporarily suspended include: not implementing the HA/W3-2 dredging package of Co Co River; stopping the technical work of the sections (DH14 road, DT608 road from Lai Nghi culvert to Lai Nghi junction) under the HA/W4 package - upgrading and renovating DT608 road; stopping the technical work of the embankment section from Lai Nghi culvert to Lai Nghi junction under the HA/W1 package - building Lai Nghi reservoir and Phap Bao lake.
The above-mentioned suspended and unrealized volume will be further reviewed and proposed for investment completion from domestic capital sources.
The Provincial People's Committee requests the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor) to urgently deploy the construction to complete the remaining items, works, and component projects. Carry out the procedure to technically stop the items that cannot continue construction to organize acceptance, handover, put into use and payment settlement in accordance with regulations.

Dien Ban Town People's Committee is responsible for inventorying and managing the current status and records of compensation, support, and site clearance for people, but not yet implemented. Avoiding loss and risk of loss of state budget, and arising complaints and lawsuits.
In addition, the Provincial People's Committee assigned Dien Ban town to be responsible for reviewing and evaluating each specific project and project item to have an investment plan according to decentralization and authority or propose to the competent authority to include it in the appropriate investment plan in the coming time to promote the effectiveness of invested projects.

The project "Developing environment and infrastructure to respond to climate change in Hoi An city" has a total investment of 88.5 million USD (equivalent to 1,858.5 billion VND), including ADB loan of 70 million USD (equivalent to 1,470 billion VND), non-refundable aid of 3 million USD (equivalent to 63 billion VND) and counterpart provincial budget of 15.5 million USD (equivalent to 325.5 billion VND). The project implementation period is from 2015 to 2023.
