VHO - On April 16th, the People's Committee of Gio An commune, Gio Linh district ( Quang Tri province) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a temple dedicated to Lord Nguyen Hoang. The project has a budget of approximately 2 billion VND, funded through social contributions.

The temple dedicated to Lord Nguyen Hoang was built in An Nha village, Gio An commune, where a shrine dedicated to this lord once existed more than 400 years ago.
The structure will be built in a traditional architectural style, with three bays and two wings. The cost for building this temple is approximately 2 billion VND, funded through social contributions; the project is expected to be completed in August 2025.
The event demonstrates the deep gratitude of the people of Gio An commune to the lord who contributed to expanding the territory.
At the ceremony, many elders from An Nha village were present and witnessed the ritual of laying the first stones for the construction of the temple.
It is expected that after the construction is completed, the local authorities will continue to call for support to cast a bronze statue of Lord Nguyen Hoang to be placed in the temple, creating a solemn space for worship.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Song, Chairman of the Gio An Commune People's Committee, the idea of rebuilding the temple dedicated to Lord Nguyen Hoang has been cherished by the local people for a long time; however, the work only began in 2023.
Many residents of An Nha village also expressed excitement and joy at the project's launch. The construction of the temple is an act of profound cultural and humanitarian significance, contributing to traditional education and fostering national pride within the community.
It is known that the newly built temple is located next to the remains of the shrine dedicated to Lord Nguyen Hoang, which was erected more than 400 years ago.
During the reign of Emperor Minh Mạng of the Nguyễn dynasty, the temple dedicated to Lord Nguyễn Hoàng here was renamed Long Phước Pagoda. Over time and through the vicissitudes of history, the pagoda has fallen into ruin, with only the stone foundation remaining. In 1996, Long Phước Pagoda was classified as a provincial-level historical site by Quảng Trị province.
