Stop slash-and-burn farming and vegetation treatment by fire from now until the end of May 2024

Implementing Official Dispatch No. 1694-CV/TU dated April 5, 2024 of the Provincial Party Committee on proactively and strengthening urgent measures to prevent and fight forest fires. In order to continue to proactively implement measures to prevent and fight forest fires and protect the environment in the province, and at the same time contribute to the successful implementation of activities towards the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Provincial People's Committee requests the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, socio -political organizations of the province and requests provincial departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and relevant agencies and units to continue to focus on organizing and seriously implementing Official Dispatch No. 31/CD-TTg dated April 4, 2024 of the Prime Minister on strengthening urgent measures to prevent and fight forest fires and Official Dispatch No. 1536/CD-UBND dated April 5, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee.

Focusing on implementing a number of contents: Continuing to promote propaganda work to further raise awareness, role, responsibility and participation of the entire political system, economic organizations and people in the work of managing, protecting, preventing and fighting forest fires and protecting the environment; the responsibility of organizations, agencies, units and all people in carrying out activities towards the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (including the burning of fields affecting the environment and the exploitation activities of Dien Bien Airport). Strictly manage the burning of fields, stop the burning of fields, and treat the ground cover by fire from now until the end of May 2024.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to continue to strengthen coordination, guide and support the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to carry out the work of forest management, protection, forest fire prevention and fighting, and clearing vegetation in the province according to regulations, ensuring no negative impact on the environment and socio-economic development activities of the province. Direct the forest rangers to proactively advise the Party Committees and local authorities at the district and commune levels to strictly control the use of fire in and near forests by local people; guide and strictly manage the burning of fields, stop using fire to clear vegetation from now until the end of May 2024 to minimize the risk of forest fires and contribute to the successful implementation of activities towards the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
