Reigning Miss Grand International gives up title because of “unrealistic promises”

“I have decided to step down as Miss Grand International 2024 and return the crown,” she wrote. The post of the Indian beauty reached nearly 18,300 likes and nearly 3,000 comments from fans within just 1 hour of posting.

In the post, the Indian beauty explained the reason for giving up the crown: “Being crowned is one of the most cherished dreams of my life. I am full of hope and pride to represent my country and make history.

However, the months following my coronation were filled with empty promises, abuse and a toxic environment that I could no longer endure in silence.”

She emphasized that it was very difficult for her to make the decision and promised that in the coming days, she would talk more clearly about her difficult journey.

“I ask for your understanding, open hearts, and continued support as I take this next step. Your love means more than you think,” she wrote.

Immediately after Miss Rachel's announcement, the Miss Grand International organization also spoke up in an official document. They confirmed that the termination of Miss Rachel Gupta's title of Miss Grand International 2024 is effective immediately.

“This decision was made because she failed to complete her assigned tasks, participated in outside projects without prior approval from the organization, and refused to participate in a scheduled trip to Guatemala. In addition, the Miss Grand International organization also requested that Rachel Gupta not be allowed to use the title or wear the crown of Miss Grand International 2024.

“We request that the crown be returned to the Miss Grand Headquarters within 30 days of this notice,” the Miss Grand organization wrote.
