Joining the jubilant atmosphere towards the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, the Railway industry organized many meaningful activities on trains and at stations with the aim of bringing new and meaningful experiences to passengers traveling by train on this occasion.
Accordingly, Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) will organize a pair of trains named "Reunification Train" specially designed, bearing the mark of historical events.
Specifically, on the evening of April 29, train SE1 departed from Hanoi station and SE4 departed from Saigon station. The two trains will meet at 12 noon on April 30 at Da Nang station. At the farewell ceremony on the evening of April 29, VNR, in coordination with partners, prepared some surprise gifts for passengers on these two trains. This is not just a normal train trip but a journey to look back at history, helping us understand and appreciate the value of peace today.
On this occasion, the Railway industry will reduce 40% of ticket prices for those who have contributed to the revolution, including war invalids, sick soldiers, veterans, relatives of those who have contributed to the revolution, etc. The program applies to passengers who buy train tickets between April 24 and May 9. Tickets will be sold directly at railway stations, passengers in the above categories must bring confirmation documents when buying tickets and when boarding the train.
Especially from now until the end of the holiday, when buying train tickets, passengers will have the opportunity to join the Railway industry to create the Reunification Train in cyberspace. Each successfully purchased ticket will be a red flag with a yellow star displayed on the ticketing system. Let's fill the train cars with the colors of the national flag, to recreate the Reunification Train in modern times, turning each trip into a journey of solidarity and national pride.
Previously, the Railway industry had organized early ticket sales and added more trains on key routes compared to normal days to meet the increased travel demand of people, ensuring that passengers could easily buy tickets to have a complete holiday.
On the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, in addition to the 5 pairs of Thong Nhat passenger trains running daily, there will be 2 more SE9 trains running from Hanoi station to Saigon station from April 29 to 30. On the Hanoi - Hai Phong route, in addition to the 4 pairs of trains running daily, there will be LP10 and HP4 trains departing from Hai Phong station and HD2 trains departing from Hai Duong station from May 2 to 4.
In addition, for destinations in the Central region, there will be 4 more trains from Saigon to Da Nang; 8 trains from Saigon to Quy Nhon, 6 trains from Saigon to Nha Trang station, 2 trains from Saigon to Phan Thiet, 2 trains from Hanoi to Da Nang and 4 trains from Hanoi to Dong Hoi...
