Duy Manh: 'Vietnam team has experience at Bukit Jalil stadium'

Sharing when arriving in Malaysia to prepare for the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, captain Duy Manh assessed that the upcoming match will not be easy.

At noon on June 6, the Vietnamese team arrived in Kuala Lumpur to prepare for the match against host Malaysia in the second match of Group F of the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup on June 10.

At the airport, the Vietnamese team was warmly welcomed by fans living and working in Malaysia. Everyone wished coach Kim Sang Sik and his team a victory over Malaysia.

Assessing the upcoming challenge, captain Do Duy Manh shared: "Through the press, we know that the Malaysian team owns a number of quality naturalized players.

Therefore, the upcoming match will certainly not be easy. Especially when having to play at Bukit Jalil Stadium with the enthusiastic cheers of the home audience. However, the whole team is in good spirits and actively preparing the final stages to aim for a favorable result."

Duy Manh said the coaching staff has proactively researched opponents through competition videos , and will continue to analyze further in Malaysia to develop appropriate tactics.

He said: "We played at Bukit Jalil Stadium in the first leg of the 2018 AFF Cup final, so we understand the heat here. The whole team will try to adapt to the weather conditions and train hard to have the best preparation."

Duy Manh also hopes that Vietnamese fans will support him and his team to win in Malaysia.

"The Vietnamese team never plays alone. We hope that fans will continue to accompany and cheer to motivate the whole team in this important match," Duy Manh expressed.

After settling in, the Vietnamese team had lunch and took a break to recover.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will have their first training session in Malaysia at 6pm today (June 6), to perfect their tactics and physical strength before entering the match. The winner of this match will have an advantage in the race for the only ticket of Group F to the final round.
