Vaccination targets in the Expanded Immunization Program include: The rate of full vaccination of all vaccines for children under one year old (tuberculosis, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis B, Hib, oral polio, measles) reaches 90% or more; the rate of tetanus-diphtheria (Td) vaccination for 7-year-old children, pneumococcal vaccine in the deployment area reaches more than 90%, the measles-rubella vaccine alone sets a vaccination target of 95% or more.

The Expanded Immunization Program sets the following disease surveillance targets: No wild polio virus, 100% of districts nationwide achieve the goal of eliminating neonatal tetanus...

To achieve the set goals, the Expanded Immunization Program recommends that localities maintain regular vaccination and achieve vaccination progress; review subjects, plan to implement catch-up and catch-up vaccination to achieve the 2024 goals, paying attention to industrial zones, urban areas and hard-to-reach areas.

Continue to deploy Td vaccine (tetanus-diphtheria) for 7-year-old children nationwide; deploy Rota vaccine in areas approved by the Ministry of Health ... At the same time, deploy medical history review and vaccination for children entering preschool and primary school.

With the Rotavirus Diarrhea Vaccine, deployed since December 2024 in some localities, more than 156 thousand doses have been used to date, with no serious reactions recorded, only some mild reactions such as vomiting, mild fever, and diarrhea. This vaccine will continue to expand in 2025 and is expected to be deployed nationwide in 2026.

In 2025 and 2026, 1-2 more vaccines will be added to the vaccination schedule in the Expanded Immunization Program to prevent diseases in children.
