FIFA praises two players, AFC compares Vietnam team with Indonesia

(Dan Tri) - The International Football Federation (FIFA) has praised two Vietnamese players after their big win over Laos. Meanwhile, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) compared Vietnam's victory with Indonesia's.

In the opening match of the AFF Cup 2024, which took place on the evening of December 9 in Vientiane, the Vietnamese team won a resounding 4-1 victory over Laos. In this match, we were stuck in finding the net of Laos in the first half, but in the second half, the whole team showed their strength by scoring 4 goals against the opponent.

This victory has helped improve the spirit of the Vietnamese team. The whole team can step more firmly in the journey to conquer the AFF Cup 2024 championship. Coach Kim Sang Sik's team is leading Group B after the first round of matches with the same 3 points as Indonesia but with a better goal difference.

After the victory of the Vietnamese team, FIFA sent a congratulatory message. On social media, FIFA posted a picture of two strikers Van Toan and Tien Linh, with the caption: "The two most prestigious brothers at the moment".

Perhaps, this is the way FIFA's media team wants to "win over" Vietnamese fans by using the name of the music show that is currently popular, "Anh trai say hi", to praise the two Vietnamese players.

Meanwhile, the AFC homepage has an article: "Vietnam team won easily, Indonesia played with difficulty". AFC commented: "Vietnam team, with the goal of regaining the championship title from Thailand, had to wait until the 58th minute to score against Laos with Hai Long's goal.

This goal helped the Vietnamese team to release their spirit. The next goals from Tien Linh, Van Toan and Van Vi appeared one after another. Laos only had one equalizer thanks to Bounphachan Bounkong.

While Vietnam won easily, Indonesia struggled to defeat resilient Myanmar. Coach Shin Tae Yong's team entered the tournament with the goal of winning the championship after six runners-up finishes.

They had a hard time against Myanmar. It wasn't until the 76th minute that Indonesia scored the only goal of the match after goalkeeper Zin Nyi Nyi Aung scored an own goal.

In the next match in Group B on December 12, Indonesia will meet Laos, while the Philippines will face Myanmar. The Vietnamese team will be off in this series of matches. We will return in the third series when we welcome Indonesia at home in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ).
