Accordingly, from 2024 to 2026, FPT Software will strengthen cooperation with universities and reputable Japanese language centers nationwide, jointly training ICT students in Japanese. The program aims for students to achieve at least N3 certification upon graduation, ready to meet job requirements in Japan.

Currently, 15 universities and ICT training institutions across the country are participating in this program, and it will continue to expand in both scale and number of participating institutions in the future. Each year, FPT Software plans to award more than 500 scholarships to talented ICT students at universities.

Mr. Do Van Khac, CEO of FPT Japan, affirmed: “The Japanese government is promoting investment in digital transformation to maintain its position as an economic powerhouse. Seizing this opportunity, FPT Japan is continuously developing a strong workforce with expertise and Japanese language skills to be ready to undertake more complex projects for large Japanese businesses. Within the next five years, we need approximately 20,000 ICT engineers to work at our campuses in Vietnam and offices in Japan to meet the staffing needs for projects with Japanese clients.”

Participating in the program, young people will experience a professional working environment, participate in high-level projects with leading experts in various fields. At the same time, FPT Software will directly connect these ICT talents with major Japanese companies that are actively seeking personnel.

In addition to providing a foreign language advantage to Vietnam's ICT workforce, FPT Software also collaborates with universities and academies in the industry to support the design and development of training programs that closely match market realities. As a result, ICT professionals are equipped with the knowledge and skills to best meet the needs of businesses.

To enable students and universities to stay ahead of market trends, FPT Software has proactively connected with universities and the ICT community. Notably, in September and October, FPT Software collaborated with the Vietnam-Japan Digital Transformation Association (VADX Japan) to organize a series of seminars titled “Japan: A Bright Spot for ICT Professionals in a Global Context” in three cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. The series of events attracted over 300 guests, including leaders from major companies, representatives from Japanese language schools, and leading universities offering ICT programs nationwide.

According to Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the country will face a shortage of nearly 800,000 ICT engineers by 2030. To attract high-quality human resources, especially in the ICT sector, the Japanese government has implemented various policies to incentivize foreign talent. Recently, the House of Representatives' Judiciary Committee passed a bill facilitating the settlement, family reunification, and indefinite employment in Japan for highly skilled foreign workers. Vietnamese engineers can also easily obtain the Tokutei Ginou visa, which offers numerous benefits and long-term residency, a priority Japan is currently offering to Vietnamese personnel.
