Nearly 1,000 officers and soldiers participate in the 2025 Capital Police Sports Festival

The sports festival is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025); at the same time, towards the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.

This sports festival has the largest scale of all forces in recent years, gathering nearly 1,000 athletes, representing more than 30 units and professional departments of Hanoi City Police.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the sports festival, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Quyen, Deputy Director of the City Police, emphasized that the task of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety in the capital in the coming time continues to pose extremely heavy demands, requiring each officer and soldier, in addition to having a strong political stance, clear ethics, and professional proficiency, to always ensure good health and meet the requirements of combat readiness.

“The 2025 Capital Police Sports Festival aims to widely propagate andeducate officers, soldiers and people about the glorious tradition of 80 years of building, fighting and growing of the People's Police and the Capital Police; to praise the force, promote the emulation movement "For the security of the Fatherland" and encourage officers and soldiers to actively study and practice to improve their political qualities and sense of responsibility, contributing to building a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern Capital Police force", said Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Quyen.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the official competitions took place from June 24 to July 4 with 9 events, including professional applied sports to modern, grassroots sports with high team spirit suitable for the physical condition and strengths of officers and soldiers, such as: Healthy Police Soldier, badminton, table tennis, soccer, tug of war, chess, billiards & snooker, Barebow sports archery and pickleball.

Through the Sports Festival, Hanoi City Police will select outstanding athletes and form teams to participate in tournaments organized by the Ministry of Public Security and Hanoi City, first of all the 9th "For National Security" Sports Festival in 2025.
