Nearly 30 thousand customers have access to policy credit capital

This afternoon, January 10, the Board of Directors of the Provincial Bank for Social Policies (BSP) held a regular meeting to review and evaluate the operation situation and preferential credit programs in 2023; deploy tasks and plans for 2024. In 2023, the Board of Directors of the Provincial Social Policy Bank directed the Provincial Social Policy Bank Branch to resolutely, synchronously and effectively implement policy credit programs in the area, fulfill assigned political goals and tasks, and achieve many positive results. Specifically, in 2023, the total mobilized and managed capital reached VND 4,777.3 billion, an increase of VND 889.9 billion compared to 2022, equivalent to 22.9%.

The provincial branch of the Bank for Social Policies has effectively transferred policy credit capital, ensuring timely delivery of capital to the right beneficiaries. Loan turnover as of December 31, 2023 reached VND 1,639 billion, equal to 126% of loan turnover compared to 2022.

Policy credit capital has helped nearly 30,000 poor households and other policy beneficiaries to borrow capital, contributing to helping more than 6,160 workers find jobs; more than 2,000 students in difficult circumstances to borrow capital for studying; more than 17,000 clean water supply and rural environmental sanitation projects...

Regarding credit activities, by December 31, 2023, the total outstanding debt reached VND 4,768 billion, an increase of VND 886 billion compared to 2022, with a growth rate of 22.8%, the year with the highest absolute growth and growth rate in the past 21 years, completing 100% of the assigned plan; with 1,842 savings and loan groups and more than 76,000 households with outstanding debt.

The Provincial Bank for Social Policies Branch has also proactively and actively coordinated with relevant departments, branches and People's Committees of districts to continue to effectively implement preferential lending policies through the Bank for Social Policies according to Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP, Decree No. 36/2022/ND-CP, Decree No. 28/2022/ND-CP.

In 2024, the Board of Directors of the Provincial Social Policy Bank will continue to advise Party committees and authorities at all levels to pay attention to and prioritize the allocation of local budget capital entrusted through the Social Policy Bank for lending to poor households and other policy beneficiaries, contributing to the effective implementation of national target programs in the area. At the same time, continue to propagate, inspect, and supervise, especially focusing on remote supervision to minimize errors and shortcomings.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam requested members of the Board of Directors of the Provincial and District Social Policy Bank to continue to make efforts and accelerate all activities to effectively implement policy credit programs in the area, in which striving to ensure that the poverty reduction rate must be maintained and increased over the years.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to preside over and coordinate with the Departments of Finance, Planning and Investment and the Provincial Branch of the Bank for Social Policies to develop a project for lending to poor households and other policy beneficiaries; coordinate with relevant units to provide comments on the project and complete it in the first quarter of 2024. Continue to research and review the operating regulations of the Board of Directors of the Provincial Bank for Social Policies to ensure that it is truly suitable for reality and promotes the strength of the entire system.
