On the afternoon of February 14, Mr. Huynh Quang Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City ( Kien Giang ), said that the authorities and Phu Quoc International Airport had assisted 292 Taiwanese tourists to leave the pearl island after 5 days of traveling here.
At the same time, Phu Quoc will have a specific report on the entire content of the incident related to these 292 tourists to the superior agency. At the same time, there will be a clear press release to the media agencies.
A group of nearly 300 Taiwanese tourists divided into many groups, preparing to go through the security check area to board the plane leaving Phu Quoc.
In addition, on February 14, the Inspectorate of Kien Giang Department of Tourism and Kien Giang Provincial Police along with a number of related agencies will go to Phu Quoc to work with the parties, to clearly understand the contents to have appropriate handling directions, avoiding bad images for Phu Quoc tourism in particular and Kien Giang in general.
Mr. Ha Tuan Minh, Director of Winner Vietnam International Travel Company Limited (tentatively called Winner Vietnam Company - headquartered in Phu Quoc) said that nearly 300 Taiwanese tourists will leave Phu Quoc on 3 flights on February 14, at 10:35; 12:30 and 19:00.
Nearly 300 Taiwanese tourists abandoned in Phu Quoc?
At 11:30 a.m., at Phu Quoc International Airport, many Taiwanese tourists had completed check-in procedures and lined up at the security check area in the international departure terminal before entering the quarantine area to board the plane leaving Phu Quoc on the 12:30 p.m. flight.
As Thanh Nien reported, 292 Taiwanese tourists purchased tour packages with Taipei-based We Love Tour Company to travel to Phu Quoc during the Lunar New Year. Upon arrival in Phu Quoc, the group of tourists will be welcomed and served by Winner Vietnam Company.
However, on January 31, Winner Vietnam Company canceled the contract because We Love Tour did not pay the costs as committed. However, on February 9, this group of guests still took a plane to Phu Quoc. They had no car to pick them up, no hotel, and no tour guide...
Faced with this situation, We Love Tour begged Winner Vietnam Company to support this group of tourists. For humanitarian reasons, Winner Vietnam Company agreed to arrange 4 bus trips and rent hotels to serve them. The payment deadline for this was February 11, but We Love Tour still did not transfer the money, so Winner Vietnam Company announced the end of the program.

During this time, Winner Vietnam Company also worked with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Taiwan Tourism Administration on the situation of the tourist group and the handling plan. Thereby, it was agreed that Winner Vietnam Company would collect money directly from tourists, and the Taiwanese company would transfer it back to the customers. However, many customers did not agree.
After February 12, the guests who did not pay had no place to stay and once again, Winner Vietnam Company was asked by Taiwan for a second support. Therefore, Winner arranged for 292 tourists to have a place to stay at Sailing Hotel, and the group continued to visit many places in Phu Quoc. The amount of more than 3 billion VND for the group, We Love Tour signed a debt note to be paid on February 26, witnessed by all parties through an online meeting.
